Altough the hotel is located in the middle of nowhere and that the villas are typical, I have been rather disappointed by our experience. The service is pretty bad, not to say nonexistant, and the food is average. I guess that if you keep in mind that it is a 3 stars hotel, you will be fine. By the way,...

We have just stayed 2 nights at this gem resort, and wish we were able to stay longer! It is a haven of peace in bustling Cambodia which enabled us to find nature again and relax! The rooms suspended on stilts with beautiful wood carvings around the walls to give light and air and with the windows open we had...

Very friendly staff, beautiful wooden and airy rooms, verry good Khmer and Western Cuisine, just a beautiful hotel to take a break from rhe busy cambodia!!! Short trip with the ferry to the island and from there a 3min. moped or Tuk tuk (from the hotel owner) ride to the hotel. No other restaurant around... but because of that there...

Rajabori Villa Resort is lush and peaceful. Individual bungalows are large and comfy. The food at their restaurant is good but pricey. A good place to chillax! In my opinion, other than the dolphins, there is nothing to see or do in Kratie.

This hotel - or rather set of simulated native houses - is on an island accessible only by ferry and no cars. We rode motorcycles to our destination which was an experience in itself. The venue has a pool, very nice indeed and is ecologically friendly which means at night there is little to no electricity as the solar panels...

One of the nicest places I've stayed in Cambodia. After reading other reviews, i feel the need to point out the following: if you are a 5 star snob that needs Air con, pampering, modern facilities and hot water ( even in 30 + degree temps), then i would suggest not staying on the island, and possibly picking another country...

We were booked in here as part of our Cambodian tour and were quite looking forward to staying on the island. Having gone to see the Irrawady dolphins first, we were late getting to the jetty at Kratie and missed the last usual ferry to the island. However, we were taken over in the dark on a much smaller sampan...

An interesting experience - the villas are very basic. There is no air con but there is a ceiling fan which was extremely noisy - but the room was far too hot without it. A simple bathroom with a note which tells you to let the water run for five minutes or so until it gets hot. Unfortunately it was...

I almost don't want to share how great this place is! wonderful setting, great salt water pool, nice lodgings, great food and the people; the best. We only stayed two days but a week would have been better. the island is worth exploring and the staff can arrange transportation. If you want to relax and take in a small piece...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Rajabori is a confidential resort made of 11 traditional Khmer wooden houses located North of the island of Koh Trong in front of the town of Kratie. We created it to allow a deep immersion in an unspoiled part of old Cambodia for travelers fond of nature and discovery. Access is by boat then tuktuk or moped. The trip to the resort through the island's countryside is beautiful and is a small adventure in itself. For now, The Rajabori has thirteen rooms spread into eleven traditional wooden houses, single or double. To accompany this discovery of traditional Cambodia, our villas and all public spaces have been furnished and decorated in typical Khmer style with what we have collected over the years in all provinces of the country. Our idea is to re create an old style Cambodian village in the protected environement of Koh Trong Island. As a matter of fact, everywhere else in Cambodia, traditional wooden houses are being destroyed to make way for ugly blocks of concrete that have become the new « chic » in contemporary Khmer society. An entire architectural heritage of incalculable value and is being ruthlessly swept under the carpet... We wanted to go against this tide by bringing together a number of well trained craftsmen who perpetuate a thousand year old savoir-faire. ... more   less
