At the end of our long road up north, we had a very pleasant and restorative stay here in this cozy place on the Grand River. Our room was comfortable, the host/owner was warm and welcoming, the breakfast was ample and delicious. And the community of Chisasabi, we are so glad we got to spend some time there. Don't miss the Museum of Natural and Cultural History. It's a different world up here.
Auberge Maanitaaukimikw truly felt like a home away from home. Being a BnB it felt much friendlier and interactive than a hotel room, and the breakfast was an opportunity to meet new people every morning. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly, the room and common areas were very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the surrounding views were amazing. I would book at this place again during future trips to Chisasibi. The one thing to point out is that it takes about 20 minutes to walk from/to the centre of the town. So if you don't have a ride, this could be a challenge in cold weather or late at night.
