I would agree with the other traveller who mentioned that it is difficult to rate. This is the only available option closest to the Everest Base camp during our stay as tents are no longer available due to the cold season. It was -15c at night, altitude at abut 5000m with only heated mattress and thick layers of quilt (not...

I stayed in this hotel as part of a tour to visit EBC. The hotel is really simple we shared a room with 4 beds. They provided tons of covers however the location itself it is very cold specially in the end of December. There is electricity and our guide provided us with heated blankets which has saved our lives....

The Rongbuk Hotel is located directly across the street from the Rongbuk Monastery. It is a low stone building surrounding a drive in central courtyard, the hotel is located 4km from the tented camp (seasonal) and 8km from E.B.C. It is the (only, especially in winter) place to stay when visiting EBC given its location to the mountain, views, proximity...

As in my title, this guesthouse is difficult to review. On one hand it is a totally unique situation. A stay here offers the opportunity to observe the sun set on Everest and then watch sunrise. When my wife and I wandered out of the room at 5:00 AM because we could no longer stand to remain there, we were...

We spent one night here in a twin room which had heating pads on the bed and two duvets each. Bring a sleeping bag and lots of base layers as its freezing at night. No radiators so the air is very cold in the room, try to sleep with your mouth covered so you dont breath in the cold air...

There's no way I can rank this higher than one star, even though we didn't regret staying here. While some of the rooms are larger, ours was only big enough to accommodate two twin beds with maybe a two feet of space at the end of them to walk in. (We were glad we left our carry-on suitcases in the...

Compare with those tent located at the Base Camp, here is excellent. Guest room is good. Twin beds with 2 comforters and one extra electric blanket. It's really warm enough at mid-night. If the weather is good, you can easy to take photo when sunset and sunrise at Mt. Everest and the milky way.... It's beautiful. We have dinner and...

As others have said , its location location location that provides the winner here. Accomodation itself is basic, restaurant food is good but smoking allowed in restaurant ( almost a requirement ) and combined with the smoky stove can lead to a high level of discomfort/coughing fits. Use your own sleeping bag if you can. The toilets are..... deplorable and...

We shared a room with another couple, we had a clear beautiful evening and a full moon, what else can you ask for? Make sure you bring good thermals and thick cloths so your can enjoy nature at its best, food was decent at the restaurant unfortunately smoking in allowed there and seems in China smoking is a must for...
