We have just left the Black Horse after a 3 night stay. Josh and crew were exceptionally pleasant and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The food we had was good and not overpriced. The standard rooms are warm clean and adequate. Lovely log fire in the bar area. We are already planning a return visit. Thanks guys.

Superb staff who could not do enough to help us and were so dog friendly. The bar had a great atmosphere, the bedrooms were very clean with an extremely comfortable bed and lovely bed linen. The food in the restaurant was very good! Finally, the location is perfect! We will definitely stay here again

Just returned this morning from the loveliest of stays at the Black Horse. Beautifully decorated for Christmas inside and out. Right in the centre of the village and clearly a hub of enjoyment for locals and visitors alike. The friendliest of staff all day every day. We had a king room which was warm and cosy with comfy bed and...

Great pub with great food and good accommodation. Has the added bonus of great staff and situated in a lovely town. The only problem is that parking is difficult but don't let this put you off. Plenty to do and see in the location.

Not stayed overnight but had the most amazing meal here. Very friendly welcoming atmosphere. Quick efficient service and food was delicious. Can recommend the tiger prawn starter and the steak special. All dishes had a twist on the norm and were very well presented. Would highly recommend and will definitely be eating here again! Need to leave room for pudding...

Staff were welcoming and helpful. Our cosy room was spotless and the freshly cooked breakfast great. The hotel dining room is very nicely arranged and although we didn't dine there the menu seems very good. It is a proper Yorkshire inn.

Although extremely busy on the Sunday of the annual Dickensian Festival we still received a warm welcome from the landlord on arrival. We would have ordered a bar meal but found it difficult to find a spare table or seat given the bar was crowded. We settled for pints of Old Speckled Hen cask ale our favourite tipple and stood...
