Founded in 1935, Maga Circe hotel went through the Second World War, the oil crisis of the 70s and finally the pandemic while keeping the same family at the helm, now in its fourth generation. Located along the coast of Lazio, in an oasis of peace and beauty, the Circeo National Park, the hotel stands directly on the sea at the foot of the promontory, about a hundred meters from the first sandy beaches of Circeo, in a particularly quiet and among the most uncontaminated, chosen for its beauty already in the 1930s for the construction of a large manor house. The rooms of our hotel in San Felice Circeo offer a breathtaking view: they overlook the mythical promontory or the sea. Well-maintained and comfortable, all rooms are equipped with TV, minibar and air conditioning; many also have a panoramic balcony overlooking the sea. The large swimming pool with sea water and the small private sandy slopes complete the seaside offer.

We just returned from a 3 week stay at this hotel. It was just what we needed after a stressful 2 yrs of not travelling anywhere due to Covid. We spent a lot of time here relaxing at their large pool and enjoying their delightful warm weather. The people here are amazing and made our stay very pleasant. The food at the veranda was outstanding and the staff here top notch.Room was ok but a little dated but the balcony overlooking the sea easily made up for the room. What a view to wake up to.
Thanks to everyone at Hotel Maga for the wonderful stay.Philip And Adriana Rollins

This seaside hotel takes one back to the time the structures there were built. I asked the owners and they date from 1930, 1956 and 1966. The place is a bit dated but full of charm and a decor of classic, good taste. The reception personnel were more than kind.

Our room was a spacious, airy and clean facility with a fantastic sea view. Due to the fact that we were there at the start of the low season, there were not very many guests present on site.

We strolled along the beach and thoroughly enjoyed this very nice hotel even though the outdoor swimming pool was closed.

The beds were comfortable and large.

We decided to eat dinner in the hotel. I have to admit, the food, service and atmosphere was wonderful. My portion of baked salmon fillets and vegetables was probably one of the tastiest meals I have ever had. It was gourmet +, absolutely delicious! The Chefs there are top notch professionals.

This a a quaint. old style and classic hotel. We highly recommend a stay at this place.

A difficult review to write as it's not straightforward so I left it for a while but here goes.

After a week's stay the initial staff attitude, maybe a bit defensive, seemed to open right up and they became very friendly. They were absolutely marvellous in how they took great care of my elderly Mum and I must re-iterate my thanks to them. A broken blind was mended the same day. They're only human, just like us, a "Good morning", "Please" and "thank you" goes a long way. I thought they were great.

Breakfast? - again, it was an OK buffet, but not one you'd talk about when you got home but a terrific terrace sea-front location.

Swimming Pool/Bar area - really lovely. Clean and big. Designated sun loungers are yours for your whole stay so no panic about not getting one. There's also little private beach for you to use.

Here's the rub. The main hotel rooms, reception and dining room need major refurbishment. This is not a question of style or taste but the fabric itself is showing it's age. The prices Maga Circe charge set an expectation level that isn't wholey met. The actual room/bathrooom interior is probably 2 star. The view is 5 star. It's a good hotel that could be great.

Conundrum for the management is: If we can already charge high rates and get the occupancy levels we need/want then what incentive is there to do anything? To be honest, there didn't seem to be no real hotel competition in Circeo San Felice either.

I've come to a conclusion that opinions of this hotel seem to be split between the younger/middle aged visitor and a more "mature" visitor. The latter seem very happy with their experience based on older seaside hotels where the former, younger/middle aged, more travelled? age group seem less convinced.

As I said at the beginning it's a difficlut review to write. The Maga Circe? Great in a few areas. Could do so much better. Hence my 3

Thank you for your review. It really sums our own feeling about our place. But I must add that the interior common areas has been redone completly less than 8 years ago. It is a long period of time indeed, but keep in mind that even if we are open all the year round, we basicly work only 4 months a year so we are surprised that you noticed such a big damage on the fabrics. Most of the rooms have been refurniched even though the style is still the same. Only a couple of days ago a guest complained about it. Funny is she was complaining about forniture that had been bought in May 2017. Sometimes our work is very frustrating exactly because of that kind of judgements. It is true that we give all our energy to the exteriors, but soon we will also take care of the interiors again and we hope that everybody will see the difference. Thank you again.

Timeless elegance in a relaxing setting on the beach and by the gorgeous pool.

Amazing location within the Lazio region and a place with magnificent historical background.

We spent all our holidays at the Maga Circe’s Hotel which has excellent facilities for families. It is surrounded by lush and spectacular greenery, nature, plants, flowers, mountains and the turquoise blue sea.

The views from the apartment located by the sea were gorgeous and peaceful. We loved having a spacious room balcony in which the Cape view and the sound of the sea were so relaxing and enjoyable. The hotel had a private beach too which allowed us to enjoy long walks and dips in the stunning turquoise blue sea.

The pool was also very big and relaxing and the pool staff were all very friendly and helpful. The pool was cleaned daily and very well maintained. The apartment was large with plenty of space and modern looking with nice amenities.

The venue offered all inclusive packages of breakfast, lunch and dinner and then menu choices changed daily. They had great selections to cater to all tastes and the prices were reasonable. The food for the kids was delicious. The restaurant staff were amazing and very attentive to all our needs. The food preparation and presentation was of high quality. The waiters, waitresses and the matron were all very friendly and very experienced. Furthermore, the hotel was well maintained and thoroughly clean.

The reception staff were all very helpful and attentive to our needs and requests and helped organise many outings and bookings. We were so happy to spend our summer holidays there after two years of no travelling. The hotel is also great for weddings receptions and for any other events. It’s highly recommended for vacations.

Charming hotel! A stone's throw from the circeo port, where it is also possible to rent boats. Comfortable rooms, especially those with a balcony overlooking the sea. The food is excellent both in the restaurant and in the pension formula. Staff very kind. The swimming pool with crystal clear sea water is surrounded by palm trees. on one side the Circeo mountain on the other offers a splendid view of the Gulf of Gaeta. Quite close to Rome and other places of historical and artistic interest.

Absolutely fabulous hotel. The staff and owner, Antonella, couldn’t do enough to make our stay a joy. We weren’t easy, 6 adults, 2 of which were vegan, 2 children and a baby. But they made us special meals and they were delicious. The hotel itself, the grounds and the pool were a delight, well kept and clean. The private beach was perfect for us. We will definitely be returning to our little piece of magic in the sun.

I stayed for 10 wonderful days at the Maga Circe at the beginning of June 2005 with my husband and mother-in-law. The staff were very helpful, despite their limited English, and always eager to please. The hotel is owned and run by an old Italian family and it shows, from their attention to detail and the fact that some of their staff have been with them for 30 years.
The rooms were clean, as was the rest of the hotel. The pool was immaculate and there were plenty of sunbeds for everyone. There was waiter service around the pool, if requested, you were left to doze alone, if not!
The food was imaginitive, varied and simply delicious. It was essentially traditional Italian food, not elaborate but nonetheless satisfying. The waiters were friendly and attentive, the Maitre d' was helpful and knowledgable about the wine on the hotel's very acceptable list and all in all, dining was a fun experience. Breakfasts were good and varied too.
Our room was the piece de resistance, as it faced the sea, which was immediately beneath our terrace! Hence all we heard in the morning were gently lapping waves- a real tonic and a guaranteed way to recuperate from our exhausting lives!
All in all, this is a hotel and resort I would recommend to anyone who wants a luxury break away from it all!

We had reservations for 3 days in Anzio but, we were disappointed so we checked out after one day and found this place on online. It is a gem! We booked one night and then the next day booked another. It was the end of the season (literally they were closing in a week) so we were somewhat nervous that the restaurant and staff would be check out (get it ;) but this was not the case at all. We were one of two couples staying there the first night and then others joined the next.
The first night we had dinner there and it was amazing. We told the waiter we liked fish and pasta and to order for us. Well, the food just kept coming and it was all wonderful. We did have to tell him to stop though as it was just too, too much but it was all so good. Everyone that worked there was so attentive and kind.
The location is beautiful with the sun rising every morning between the two palm trees right outside our balcony. The Porto is within walking distance so there is lots of boats and some shops/restaurants close by plus the there is a little beach which was beautiful.
Feeling so lucky to have stumbled upon this place and have such a great experience and memories.

This hotel is in a terrific location, however everything else was a great disappointment. This is a 4star rated hotel, how?? It's in desperate need of a complete overhaul. The rooms were very basic and the air con was useless, tired and old, The bathrooms were way too small. The furnishings and wiring were very 70's!! The pool area was great, a lovely large salt water pool but the poolside showers were in need of a serious clean, the bases were covered in green slime! The only way to shower was to wear flip flops! Towels, umbrella's and sun loungers were provided. They had a pool table with no balls and said they were stolen!! The gym (basic equipment!!) was awful, it was in room below the pool level which absolutely stank and was filthy! This hotel would be suberb after a total facelift and for the room rates they charge its a complete rip off! Oh yes, one other positive was the breakfast and which was fine and the staff were very nice too.
I would'nt bother returning to this hotel again but the area is well worth a visit, especially a trip to the wonderful very pretty medieval upper town of San Felice Circeo.

Hotel run and staffed by very friendly and helpful people. This is maybe the fifth or sixth time that we have stayed here and we will be back. Wonderful location, great rooms, lovely pool and deck and excellent food. Dinner on the terrace is a highlight, after a hard day doing very little. There is lots to do and see in the area. Perhaps next year?

Thanks for everything

La nostra struttura si trova direttamente sul mare ed ha un accesso privato sabbioso dove fino a 30 anni fa c'era un piccolissimo porticciolo. Il fondale é sabbioso e comodissimo per entrare in acqua.
