Friendly staff, food a bit hit and miss, dinner was sorted as soon as a problem was raised, no problem in resolving. The room was nice and clean, the parking secure. It is a quiet town but it's nice to be able to park off the road and not have to worry about unwanted attention.

Visit to aged and unwell family and this was local, great reviews so we booked. Great welcome, food was dood for two out of three orders, third was dire BUT when asked how the meals were the host went to some length to promptly sort out the problem with one of the meals. The room was very pleasant, small but...

A warm reception by the restaurant staff made this a positive experience for a mid day meal celebrating a family birthday. The food was good value chosen from a comprehensive menu found on-line, able to be previewed before we went there. The multi fuel log burner kept the seated area warm and inviting. We are likely to return soon

Very nice roomsite & lovely old pub. Stayed just one night & didn't sample the food. Staff were friendly & would stay again. Only niggle is having to pay for WiFi in rooms which detracted from otherwise high quality of accommodation.

Stayed at the Boars Head as we were down for our local paragliding Christmas party. Great location in Town. Nice and close to all other shops and pubs. No problem parking as its right outside the rooms.

Beautiful and welcoming pub, food served all day. We parked ourselves by the log fire and didn't want to leave! Good value for money and would recommend to anyone. Plenty of selection on the menu. Can't comment on the accommodation as we didn't stay there.

Would defo recommend this hotel. We were going to a wedding nearby and location was ideal. The village is small but lovely. Only problem may be that you need to book taxis in advance if you need them but to be honest if you were just visiting the local area, if the breakfast was anything to go by, dinner would...

Thank you for your review as I only had one table of 4 booked for 1pm Sunday you must be connected to the previous review I have already responded to. I note you must have arrived separately as you say you were there at 1pm when your fellow reviewer states you all arrived at 1.07pm..... very confusing I must say!...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Boars Head is a Seventeeth Century former Coaching Inn and has the oldest license in the town dating back to Sixteen Forty Two. Darren & Stuart took over in 2008 after a period of closure and purchased the freehold Fifteen months ago. Since then we have been lovingly restoring it and now enjoy an official AA rating of a Four Star Inn. Our Restaurant is open everyday from Midday - Nine PM all our food is made in house, and is good hearty pub food. Our rooms are in a converted barn across the car park at the rear of the property where you can enjoy the freedom of your own front door but all the services you would expect from a well run establishment. I have been in the service industry Twenty Two years, we care about our customers wether there local or passing through you will find a warm welcome. Our rooms are all en suite bath & Shower with Ipod Docking Station, Tea & Coffee, Iron & Ironing Boards, Digital Safe, Flat Screen TV/DVD Player.
