My boyfriend and I stayed at the floating houses for 3 nights. During our stay in June we were the only guests which was nice in a way but quite isolating too. The huts themselves are really set in beautiful surrounding away from the hustle and bustle of my tho. They are pretty basic but have some space to sit... More

The owner gives hardly any information upon arrival and gives misstatement. It ones was a nice place, but it's slowly falling apart, due to lack of maintenance. The cleaning was very poor. Dirty toilet, moldy bathroom floor, mold in the ice box, moldy pillows. The dinner table was not cleaned the 5 days we were there and it was dirty... More

The Mekong Floating House is the nice idea to stay in huts on the river and there might have been good times for that venture. The interior is good enough and might be enough, but it was dirty and neglected. When we arrived there was still garbage from other guests in the bin. And the tea can which was served... More

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Mekong floating house for two nights in December during our trip in South Vietnam. The place consists of 5 bamboo houses with bedroom, bathroom, shower and terrace, away from the chaotic traffic and the noise of the city of My Tho. You'll need a boat to take you from My Tho's pier and... More

It takes a long time travelling from Saigon or Can Tho and then the boat to the island which you pay for but it is not too expensive. We were resting on the journey between those places. You get isolation and tranquillity interspersed with noisy boats. Early morning and evening you can watch the tidal flow change and really relax.... More

Once you are on the boat, you are pretty much there. Owner will organise shuttles. But this is really a hotel for 1-2 days to escape the hustle and bustle of life. Simple accommodation (more like basic caravaning). Simple breakfast and traditional Vietnamese dinner. No lunch, so if you need it, bring it! What makes this is the quiet of... More

Accomodation is very expensive for the comfort they offer. There are no alternatives so you have to eat (breakfast and dinner) at your 1 star accommodation. Breakfast very poor (half a glass of apple juice and some little loaves of bread). Poor shower with cold water. Boat trip to the main land is very expensive and you want to go... More

It does take a bit of an effort to get here, when you get there you will be very happy. Mr Kimma and his staff are fantastic, it is very basic accommodation, but that is what you go there for. It is a very peaceful place to stay, just wonderful to watch life on the Mekong and quite cool at... More

I was quite excited by the prospect of the Floating House... My husband a bit less, as he thought we would get bored (we stayed three nights) but he ended up loving it and the kids did too ! Based on the great reviews and photos, we booked into this place. Only once we got there, we were informed of all the limitations/restrictions: - Hot water only from 8am to 5pm (forget about a quick shower before bed after a hot day - this is the Mekong and it gets hot...) - once you are in the cabin, you...
