Detailed Reviews
We had a 2 night, 3 days stay. Because we were with friends we had a complete house. Bathroom outside, room with fridge, aircon, coffee and tea facility’s. Outside a large veranda with seats and hammocks. The rooms are clean and large enough, 2 seats.
We had 2 tours and they were great. Sailing over the river in a boat with easy chairs and 2 daybeds. A guide cleaning fruit for you, visiting a very local market, cycling in the surroundings.
The afternoons we spend at the pool and in our hammocks, very relaxing, giving us a chance to get used to the heat.
Also some points that could use some improvement. If you label yourself as an eco lodge why not a ceiling fan in the room, so you won’t need the airco during the night.
In the room there is a reusable bottle for water, at the table you only sell small bottles, so if 4 persons want water you have to buy 4 small plastic bottles in stead of 1 large bottle.
The staff could use some English lessons. During our stay communication was very difficult with them. Even the question if the meat was boneless they did not understand.
The eveningview in de sunsetlounge was beautyfull. But, not atmosphere. No music, sometimes no staff and at 9 pm we were asked to order the last drink for the night. So we switched out the lights ourselves.

I spent three nights at this very pleasant hotel set in a delightful position at the end of a winding lane overlooking the river. Comfortable room overlooking well maintained gardens and steps away from their good sized swimming pool which was a pleasure to swim in early morning and after a day exploring the surrounding villages and pathways by bike. They offer cruises too. Meals are served on request in their restaurant ( I recommend a delicious morning glory salad) and there is a sunset lounge overlooking the river with couches and hammocks to while the time away. A pleasant place to escape the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh.

There are many options for staying in Ben Tre. We choose Mango because of the lovely surroundings.
We are only spent one night.
Pros: beautiful natural surroundings in the river with a nice view of sunset, sitting by their sunset lounge . Played Pool after dinner and was told we could play as long as we like, same as the pool, swim as long as we like. Small and adequate pool.
Room was nice with good outdoor shower. Bicycle was nice for a ride once you got off the busy main road.
Cons: We were greeted by a welcome drink but then hounded us to pay our bill right away for the night. They didn’t tell us times for breakfast or dinner.
Dinner was just fair, I ordered the fried rice with squid and shrimp which were hard to find and seasoned blandly. Meat dishes just ok.
Breakfast was buffet but they ran out of banana bread . Eggs or noodle soup was offered but small amount of fruit. Just ok, not a bigger spread like in most hotels in Vietnam.
Right after I checked out I wanted a little water to bring along for the trip back, one staffer directed me to the restaurant to buy a small bottle of water. I was surprised and asked another staffer and she offered to fill my water bottle up,which was just fine.
So I don’t know if I would stay there again but I did like the environment and pool and playing pool and the bicycles.

This was a lovely find. Just a 2hr local bus journey (90,000 vd) from Ho Chi Minh then a complimentary shuttle bus and golf cart ride to the homestay. Deep in the waterway network of the Mekong Delta, a small resort with tastefully decorated rooms, a pool, bar, and restaurant - and extremely welcoming and attentive staff.
I found it very relaxing, and I loved the way the rooms were decorated in European-Asian fusion with a capacious outdoor bathroom. When the heavy rain came, it teemed down one bathroom wall into the garden, so lovely.
Very reasonably priced.

We had a wonderful stay here. It was our first few nights in Vietnam, so it was great to arrive to such a warm welcome - plus a nice chilled fruit drink and some cooling towels.
The room was as expected, good air con, comfortable bed. We overlooked the pond area, it was very quiet, don't think we saw or heard any other people whilst we were in the room. The bathroom was partly covered and partly open to the elements, so you did have to remember to fully shut the bathroom door each time you went in, so as not to let in mosquitoes. But that was not a problem, I liked the quirky bathroom with its resident lizard!
Food here was fantastic. First night we were jetlagged and just wanted to eat quickly and go to bed. We were given a riverside table, service was great, food came quickly and was delicious. In fact every meal was really good.
One breakfast was buffet, including a fresh egg station, the other 2 days breakfast was a la carte. We enjoyed both.
Staff very regularly checked up on us, came to see if we were still enjoying our stay, and also reconfirmed our trip bookings. We did the sunset boat trip - which we ended up having to ourselves as no one else had booked. And also did the half day trip around local areas and industries, which was really enjoyable. We were very well looked after.
We took advantage of the provided bikes. They gave us a clear map of a good route to take, which mostly avoided main roads and went around the countryside areas. We really enjoyed our morning out, and stopped for lunch at the Family Restaurant just outside the hotel on the way home.
All in all we had a fantastic stay, can't speak highly enough. Thank you so much to all the staff for looking after us so well and being so friendly.

Wanting to escape the noise of HCMC we took a 2.5 hrs taxi ride on a rather boring drive to the Mango Home Riverside. on arrival we opted for a late lunch to the noise of a coconut factory across the river.
The only available soup was utterly tasteless and the fish dish totally over salted. We subsequently had ‘’dinners’’ in the lounge consisting of Springrolls and Banana Fritters, hardly what we wanted but better safe than sorry .
The so called Sunset Cruise was an expensive rip-off and included a plate of chips with the Coconut Juice to be paid for extra. The river is sadly over polluted and the riverbanks lined with noisy, smoke belching factories. No romance to the ‘cruise’ but a 4% surcharge on our payment by CC - better carry tons of cash…..
Let’s not talk about ‘breakfast’ but the staff with only some friendly and welcoming. Given the small number of guests more effort could have been made apart from the obvious lack of training
One final note of caution. The water from the shower is not only hot but BOILING hot, a waste of energy and so was our trip to the NO Mangos ‘home’ which lacked any homely feeling and management

We enjoyed our stay at Mango Home Riverside in Ben Tre! The staff were very helpful and arranged a pick-up from HCMC and transfer to the hotel and an afternoon tour of the area. I really enjoyed relaxing on the boat in the river with fresh fruit and coconuts and learning more about local specialities. We had an amazing dinner and tried the elephant ear fish (gourami) - it was SO delicious! The hotel also has bikes, which we borrowed to check out the nearby market. Thank you for a great start to our Mekong Delta trip.

Situated 6 kilometres outside Ben tre at the bank of a river. Very good price quality ratio. Plus points of this resort: quite a large terrain: beautiful lush and green. Nice swimming pool and daybeds including sun umbrellas. Bicycles can be used without cost. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast a great mixture of western and asian food. Sun downers at the bar area are a great way to end the day. Peaceful & quiet. Food in restaurant for lunch/dinner also nice. Rooms are simple, beds and blanket quite small. But outdoor seating area is nice and the bathroom partially outside gives a very authentic feel to it. We would recommend a stay for 3 nights. Do a bicycle tour and a boat trip to discover surroundings and relax!

Mango Home Riverside is a beautiful hotel next to the river and has a very helpful young team. We spend three very nice days and nights there and joined a tour as well. Compared to the general level of amazing food in Vietnam, the food at the hotel could be improved, but we experienced that in other hotels as well.

It may be best to email mango home directly for current rates. However per night for a family suite was roughly $150 aud per night, smaller rooms are less. The half day cruise was fantastic I could not speak more highly of it for about $100 Aud. A fantastic way to experience the Mekong, far better then a day trip from HCM city. If you have the time take the 1,2 or 3 day over night trip. The boats are private (just for you) and you won’t experience something like this anywhere else.
Why do you need my email address?
Sorry I was a travel at Mango Homestay. You will need to contact them directly to answer this question
