The food was expertly prepared in a period kitchen by local artisans - it did not disappoint! Their steaks, rissotto, zuccini flours and rabbit are multiple ticks off our 'bucket list' The waiting staff aee so friendly, especially the waitress from Romania. The Count is so friendly he is a credit to his family line, Gargonza and Italy as a...

This queriky hotel is made up of a village where you walk through the streets to your room or the restaurant. The food was delicious and the staff were charming and helpful. As I was in a group of cyclists we were delighted with the wonderful breakfast that set us up for a days cycling.

Our group stayed here jut one night while biking throughout Tuscany. Wish it could have been longer! Charming room (even a bathtub!), windows that open to great views, minibar, towel warmer, local herbal lotions/potions for sale in the lobby, roses growing everywhere...it's literally near nothing so be prepared for peace and quiet. The hotel dates back to the 1300s and now...

We (two couples on our 30s), stayed at Gargonza in May 2016. Gargonza is a little medieval town the top of a Tuscany mountain in the middle of nowhere. The setting is perfect for weddings, and we were glad to not stay on a weekend, as they usually are very busy then. We stayed during the week and practically had...

The Castello really is a small village in the Countryside with the town of San Savino a ten minute drive away. The hotel emailed to tell us that their restaurant was closed on one of the evenings during our stay so we decided to drive to the Trattoria a couple of miles away. On the other evening we ate in...

This is not really a castle - more of a fortified very small village but charming all the same. There are evidently 45 "rooms" in the hotel which occupies all the buildings in the village. Some of the buildings are very old, as was ours and consequently it was rather dark as it only had one small window. Room also...

This is an authentic medieval castle in a beautiful setting with some great views. We stayed in the Niccolina room which had a very nice rustic atmosphere with wood beams on the ceiling and a great stone fireplace. The bathroom was modern and very clean. The room was also very quiet. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The...

A beautiful property with magestic views of the Tuscan countryside. The family apartment we rented was well appointed, clean and centrally located on the property. The apartment "Argentina" included two lovely bedrooms, a small kitchen area, and a large living area with a fireplace. A perfect respite during our 10-day trip through Italy. Our family loved staying in a historic...

The castle is like something out of a fairytale. It is a genuine 12th century rustic Tuscan estate. While it brings you back in time, it still has all of the amenities of a modern hotel. It was cozy and warm, despite the cool wind and drizzle outside. We used the fireplace to set the mood, although the heating was...

As soon as we arrived, we were in awe of Gargonza's beautiful and romantic setting. The complex is located amidst tuscany hills, a bit away from everything. It's about half an hour drive to explore the surrounding cities. But you basically don't need to step out of the complex, it's like a village in its own. The food at its...
