Il borro had been a dream of mine for several years, and I was finally able to realize that dream this October. The property is just what you want it to be, a perfect blend of medieval charm, and modern elegance. The service is really top notch, and there was nothing for me to complain about. The location is pretty...

We stayed for 2 nights in late August. It started well with great reception staff and a buggy ride to our suite. The rooms are lovely, great beds. Most are in the old village which has been renovated into suites...it makes sense when you're there. We had a nice sitting area with fridge and TV, large bedroom and v large...

We are on our second day of a 5 night stay at Il Borro Relais & Chateaux after touring Venice, Rome, Florence and most of Tuscany. Il Borro has, in less than 48 hours, already surpassed all other locations, vacations and experiences as THE BEST WE HAVE EVER HAD!!! We just returned from the Il Borro Wine Tour with Leonardo...

It is a real treat to stay here and enjoy the calm chianti countryside near Arezzo. The whole property is impeccable, the people friendly and helpful and the rooms are nice. By all means have dinner here at the Osteria Il Borrro, it really lives up to its reputation. Try the tasting menu and the wines from the estate. Good...

We returned last week to Il Borro after a wonderful stay in June, 2015. It was the highlight of our trip last year and so had very high expectations on our return. What a let down it was. Room: We stayed in Malagnino, as we did last year. The room was as it was then, very comfortable, though WiFi reception...

Amazing hotel in the middle of an old town. The town is all owned by the hotel. They have hoseback riding, pool, restaurants, and wine tastings. The pool is one of those views that your jaw drops. The hotel room was an entire house. Really really spectacular. Great spa.

My husband and I wanted to do Tuscany for 10 days. We were looking for a luxury hotel that had either separate villas/apartments, but also have the facilities and amenities of a hotel which had restaurant, bar, spa and activities. We also needed a place that was dog friendly, but didn't have a high daily pet fee since we were...

We visited as part of a special birthday treat organised by the missus and were completely blown away. Imagine a small historic village that has been meticulously converted house by house into a fabulous resort with hidden and sensitively designed amenities (a secret infinity pool hidden 200 steps from the old Church, anyone?) where every room is unique and the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Telling its stories, a place becomes part of those stories. The legend takes on a life beyond the place and becomes timeless. The origins of the village of Il Borro are lost in the history of medieval Tuscany and the famous people who established the reputation of the region. Every alley, every stone speaks of a time that once was, of flavours and scents that recall the memory of a rare and more authentic Tuscany.Surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, in the shadow of the cypress trees of the ancient Via dei Sette Ponti, (an area rich in art and culture between the three main cities of Tuscany Florence, Arezzo and Siena), Il Borro is an open window on history, a fresco to a far away world. The Medici dynasty, the Savoia family and now the Ferragamo family have safeguarded and preserved this precious oasis, making this place, suspended between past and present, a sanctuary dedicated to wellbeing and the art of hospitality. You are welcome - one thousand years of history are waiting for you! ... more   less
