Easy to find (there's a big signal at the entrance) in a central part of the town (10 mins walking from the pier), the hotel is quite basic but good; rooms are quite big (compared to Laotian average), hot water, free wifi, good sleeping quality; not as cheap as I though, but still a good price for a pivate room...

I had no complaints about this hotel, a little pricy and no transparency on what the kip price would be, until I tried to get out at night and realised that as they had used a bike lock on the front door (no sign of the key) and locked the kitchen which leads to the only other ground floor door...

We stayed there before and after the Gibbon experience as it is only a few meters sways from their office. Nothing special. Pretty basic and the staff tries to sell you the tuk-tuk rides of family members at a high price. Plenty of restaurants around.

The guesthouse is on the main road, with a really good location. Rooms and bathrooms are clean and bright. The shower runs perfectly. Many people stayed here, but it wasn't crowded. Recommended after the gibbon experience to have a relaxing stay on a good bed and with hot shower.

We stayed in Sabaydee Guesthouse prior to and after the Gibbon Express. It is definitely not worth its current rating on Tripadvisor. The rooms are below basic (and not really clean) and the service could be improved.

There are not many guesthouses in this border town - Sabaidee was well reviewed but my experience was absolutely ghastly: (1) I booked through booking.com and am sending them photos of unspeakable filth in all three rooms we were shown. (2) a/c works probably with 5%-10% capacity because it has never been serviced. (3) Reception is not manned most of...

Get what you paid for with such a low price, good location and stopover before the slow boat. Beds weren't the most comfortable and the room could have done with a bit a freshening up as it smelled a bit musty. Used the fan as the aircon due to the ac not working which wasn't the best with it being...

Really basic accomodation for the equivalent of EUR 6 p.p. in a double room. Clean bed, filthy bathroom (could be fixed with just a good scrub...). Wifi acceptable. We did have a nice view on the Mekong river though. Not sure if the alternatives in the village are much better.

Stayed for one night before the Gibbon Experience. Would not stay here again even if It was free. The room was dull and smelt like it had not been aired out in a long time. I didn't dare to look to closely at anything in fear of what I might find. The rooftop terrace was a nice spot to have...

I checked in and ran away an hour later. It was low season and I was the only one there. It seems that the room wasn't used for so long (very dusty), yet the bathroom was wet. They asked for 19$ which was very pricy. Maybe in high season it's different but there are other places with better conditions near...
