Although we were only there for lunch we were entertained by Erin who told us the history of Dadanawa. Food excellent and plentiful, the area is teeming with wildlife and good trails along the river banks.

Firstly I would like to thank Justin and his family and all those who work on the ranch. Everyone was kind and welcoming. The problem with this place for me was value. Paying $75 USD a night (for a hammock and all meals) is not cheap. Yes, all activities are included, but I had no idea what the activities were....

I spent three days at Dadanawa ranch at the beginning of a 11 night trip, organised by Rupununni Trails, which also operates from there. My room, was clean, surprisingly cool, despite the limited electricity (thanks to a large verandah) and comfortable, the food was good and plentiful and the surroundings were exquisite. The river-bisected savannah stretches towards blue-grey, misty mountains...

Nature at its best...beautiful scenery of savannahs as far as the eyes could see, ringed with hills, fabulous sunsets and beyond spectacular night skies are some of the highlights. Wonderful people, delectable food and comfortable accommodation were all bonuses considering the remoteness of the ranch. Great place for astronomers, nature lovers and anyone who wants to experience life on a...

I have stayed at Dadanawa four times in the past and have had a warm and welcoming reception each time. By the time you leave you feel like family and it's always difficult to say goodbye. This is a working ranch and although the buildings are weathered, the accommodations are comfortable and the food is excellent. This trip was a...

I spent a week at the ranch, sleeping in a hammock on the porch, with great views of the savanna. I felt at home the minute I arrived and felt like part of the family by the time I left. Good food and very friendly people. Went horseback riding, fishing, and visited a neighbouring village with a great swimming hole....

First of al,l I wish Trip Advisor allowed for a score of 0. Second of all, the other reviewers must be e either friends of the kids who "run" this ranch or must be backpackers with a very low standard for accommodations. Everything went wrong with our Dadanawa experience almost from the beginning. The experience started with a private transfer...

If you want adventure, unique experiences, tranquillity and opportunities to really appreciate nature, where generation old stories and superstitions are shared around camp fires and rum, where you sleep in hammocks in the middle of the Amazon Rainforest, catch your dinner and canoe through the most untouched beautiful landscape with giant wild river otters swimming alongside, brightly coloured Macaws overhead...

We were so lucky to have worked with Duane DeFreitas and Rupununi Trails to plan our 2-week Guyana trip. We gave him some suggestions and he made sure everything worked smoothly. The highlight of our trip was 4 days at Dadanawa Ranch. We flew to Lethem and were picked up by a Toyota 4 runner for the 3-hour drive to...
