Karanambu Lodge was great. Variety on the activities - savannah drives, boat trips & walks. Many species of bird seen, plus Giant Anteaters, monkeys etc. Guides very good & all the staff were very pleasant and helpful

2 Days at Karanambu - A very peaceful, quiet place. omfortable rooms fully equipped, and flowers in the court make you totally relax. Superb wildlife and landscape at the doorstep combined with very friendly local guides, knowledgeable about birds, wildlife, and trees. Wildlife watching by boat on the river, by foot along the many ponds, by driving in the savannah,...

That was exactly what I wanted to do during my long weekend: transplant myself in the Guyanese wilderness. Since I previously had experienced many a wilderness area in the world and gradually learned that the bush had its own set of rules, I did not go to Karanambu with specific expectations; I did not have a list of animals to...

Karanambu Lodge is off the beaten track. I traveled independently. The Georgetown office booked me pick up at Ginep Landing and 3 nights accomodation on the trust that I'd pay them when I got back to Georgetown. You don't see that in too many places anymore. The cabin was quite spacious and airy. If you've never slept under thatch you...

A strange place indeed. The wildlife was the best in Guyana, the guides knowledgeable, the nighttime drifts with Rum punch under the stars were magic. The rooms large and airy. The food good and the staff polite... so it should have been 5* but the whole place had a strange detached feel about it. It was as if the heart...

Oh my! We'll be sure that cold beer is always available in the future. Maybe you'd like to give us another try at that 5 star rating.

My daughter and I had booked two nights here, but a Liat flight delay cost us our first night, so we missed out on the lily pond and never got to see a potoo or jabaru, On our arrival from Lethem I was delighted to be met by none other than Diane McTurk herself. This refined lady, now in her...

We only stayed here for one night but wish it had been longer. Gerry made us very welcome and the food was good. The accommodation is wonderful-clean airy cabins with comfortable beds with mosquito nets and ensuite shower/toilet. We saw the giant river otters, loads of caiman and bird life, a jaguar at dusk as we drifted down the rupununi...

Of the Eco-lodges we visited in southern Guyana, this was the best. The range and density of wildlife were the best, with the resort's location amid river, forest and savannah helping. The rooms are modestly, but comfortably, furnished. No hot water. No WiFi, but you can use their computer for email -- slow dial-up speed. Food is good, and you...

Thank you for your feedback. Wi-Fi is now available to all guests free during the late night to early morning. We've also made some menu adjustments to highlight even more of the regionally available fresh produce. Thank you again.

I stayed for 2 nights as part of a longer tour of the Rupunini, arriving after a long, hot day on the river, but pleasantly revived with a cold beer, and really enjoyed my stay. My room had a large, ensuite bathroom and huge, comfortable bed. Bottled water is provided alongside the the - rather essential - insect repellent. Yes,...

“I was on the extreme edge of the ranch and the views towards the mountains were just gorgeous.”
  • Outer porch, note the hammock.
  • From the porch looking in. Those windows have no glass and the blinds only closed with effort.
