We stayed at Jicaro for 4 nights in early April. There are only 9 rooms on a very small island which gives it a feel of solitude and peace. The rooms are beautiful - you feel like you are sleeping in a tree house. All rooms have large decks overlooking the water and they felt very private (we were in...

We have been blessed with the ability to travel to many many amazing places over the years including many of the Caribbean islands and other places in South and Central America. I myself have been to more than fifty countries on six continents, so needless to say, I am a seasoned traveller who can provide a reliable, experienced, and unbiased...

Unique experience from the moment you get off the boat and you are greeted like royalty. Very intimate getaway with only 9 "casitas" on the small island but everything is designed to make you feel very special. The casitas are well designed and furnished, but do not expect a Tv or air conditioning.....The restaurant offers a varied menu and the...

We loved it so much here that we extended our stay one more day. Eduardo took us on 2 tours we will never forget. He is warm, funny, well-informed and engaging and commits to taking his guests to places that are authentic and beautiful. Food was amazing, service just as good. Don't go anywhere else!

The ambience, food and personnel are superlative. Yoga area has a view of Lake Nicaragua and it is incredible. The location with a view of Mombacho volcano is breath-taking. I would say its better for a 2 day stay if you want are adventurous- its a boat ride away to Grenada to see the colonial sights or explore the forests....

Not a single flaw in this spectacular resort. The Island is gorgeous, the rooms are impeccable, spacious and everything you would expect in a 5 Star hotel. The food was wonderful with everything locally sourced. Everyone knows your name and they are always waiting at the dock when you return with a tropical surprise. The only complaint i had was...

Dear Alex, Thank you for your wonderful review about our "hidden gem" in Lake Nicaragua. We loved having you stay with us and were also sad to see you leave. We still see guests skeptical about staying on our island as they think there is not enough to do, but in all of our time of operations, nobody ever left...

Jicaro has nine luxury casitas (cabins) together with public and service areas all on a tiny island. The casitas are very well appointed. There are two floors, with a spacious bedroom upstairs. The main floor includes a sitting area and an unnecessarily large shower/bathroom. Although there is plenty of floor area, the downstairs felt congested because of the way it...

My wife and I recently spent a night at this unique Ecolodge located in the Isletas de Granada in the Middle of Lake Nicaragua. The staff was absolutely delightful and willing to please. They set up a wonderful, private birthday dinner for the two of us at the edge of the water. The food was terrific and they really knocked...

The friendly staff make all the difference here. It made our few days even more relaxing. The rooms all come with mosquito nets which they put up and down for you, although it didn't even seem like we needed them (in February) since the entire Casita is screened in. The food was outstanding - the best Ceviche I've ever had....
