While at first we had some doubts about driving to what seemed like "nowhere", we were absolutely delighted at what we found. The house is fabulous from an architectural and design perspective, the room was wonderfully comfortable and spacious, the gardens amazing, and breakfast was delicious. But the best part were the hosts, Gary and Marianne who are fascinating and lots of fun. The spa is also gorgeous and although we didn't have time to take advantage of it (next time!), it's lovely. Everything is done beautifully with lots of care and lots of class. A great B&B and spa!

Wonderful evening - the atmosphere, food, massage and of course the outdoor hottub were all so wonderful. It was a great way to recharge!

I am very disappointed in this business. I purchased a gift card for my mother-in-law to enjoy a pedicure. My mother-in-law took her mom along with her to enjoy an afternoon of pampering on a Wednesday afternoon. The esthetician was very nice, polite, and did a fantastic job. The owner however was not so professional. Once the treatment was complete, it was downhill from there. Both my mom and nanny had gift certificates. One gift card had recently been purchased specifically for a pedicure as a birthday gift. The second gift card was a gift card for $60 off that was quite a bit older, but did not have an expiry date written anywhere on it. I had given this to nanny to use in hopes that it would still be accepted. The esthetician thought the owner would for sure honour the gift card regardless of the date on it. She was wrong. Mom and Nanny walked to the owners door, were not greeted with a 'hello', just shuffled into the house to make their payment. She immediately asked where my nanny had got her $60 gift card. She said it was a gift. At first, she was about to do the math and only make nanny pay the difference, but then quickly changed her mind and said that the gift card was a promotional item and expired after 1 year (which was never stated anywhere on the card). My mom then offered to pay for nanny's treatment and the owner would not accept a personal cheque. When the debit machine refused to work after several attempts she finally agreed to accept a cheque and ensured to write down all personal information to go with it (even though it was all listed on the cheque). She was extremely rude and unprofessional. Not to mention, we purchased the gift card the weekend before Halloween. When I booked November 11th the owner informed us that she intends on closing her business for a few months starting November 18th so I had better book sooner than later. It would have been nice to receive that information prior to purchasing the gift card. I do not recommend this business, I'm sure many have had lovely experiences, but my family has not. I am embarrassed that I my mother-in-law and nanny had such a distasteful experience and I wouldn't wish that on anyone else. I think that the business owner has much to learn about proper business practices, etiquette and professionalism.

We loved our stay at this Charming Country Inn. The gardens are breath taking, the interior is buckminster style conjoined domes, very spacious and comfortable, with a lovely guest sitting area, we also enjoyed the screened gazebo. We went canoeing in ALgonquin Park, horseback riding and took in some great restaurants. Our room was great-breakfast was delicious and our hosts friendly and knowledgeable on the area. Marianne co-ordinated our outdoor activities, canoeing etc., and we are going back for the dogsledding packages in the winter-can't wait.

My husband and I got married here in July 2004 and it was the most beautiful day of our lives. The staff at the Hummingbird Hill made sure everything ran smoothly and made us feel like it was imortant to them that our day ran well. It was an unforgetable day thanks to Maryann and the Humingbirds wonderfull elopement package.

Thanks

Hummingbird Hill is a little piece of heaven! Everything about it is amazing. Marianne and Gary are a friendly, welcoming couple who have a beautiful, unique place. Our room was lovely, with the nicest linens I have ever slept on!

The spa was the highlight of our visit. The spa building itself fits perfectly into its surroundings. We sat in the screened-in porch for our pedicures, drinking our complimentary bottle of wine, listening to the birds, and enjoying the beautiful gardens. This was the first spa experience for my husband and he loved every minute! The 4 Layer Facial is a must! Its the best facial you will ever have - Kim is amazing!!

Hummingbird Hill is the perfect getaway. I can't wait to go back!

The destressor package is in one word divine! Hummingbird Hill is truly a little piece of heaven tucked away in North Bay! In one week-end two uptight, frazzled city dwellers were magically transformed into a glowing, energized couple with fabulous skin (thanks to the spa treatments) and a new lust for life. The food is exceptional, the surroundings spectacular and Gary and Marianne’s hospitality is outstanding. A home away from home with all the perks of paradise. Everyone should experience Hummingbird Hill. We'll certainly come back again and again and again!

My husband and I were married at Hummingbird Hill in 1999. I couldn't of imagined a more beautiful day to begin our life together. The gardens were some of the most beautiful I've ever seen, all surrounded by forests. There were many sitting areas around the grounds, along with a big cedar gazebo, for the guests to wander. We had a tent set up for dinner and a trio came to play during it. The house was so quaint and full of character. There were so may photo oppurtunities that we have too many pictures! Marianne was so helpful, before, after and during the wedding. The night before my sisters and I spent the night there. Marianne arranged for us to each have massages and she pampered us with chocolate covered strawberries and champagne. I couldn't of been more relaxed! The whole day was so wonderful and I've been told many times that it was the best wedding ever. Although this was 4 years ago my husband and I just spent a night there to celebrate our anniversary and It was just as wonderful. The rooms are all so unique and the outdoor hot tub is very private. Marianne prepared an amazing dinner for us and she wasn't stingy with the wine! We sat around the dinner table with Marianne, her husband and the other guests and she made us feel like old friends. I don't know if she's doing weddings anymore, you'd have to ask, but I would recommend spending a few days there relaxing and unwinding.

Marianne, Gary and their staff were unbelievable. Treatments are done by professionals who have PERSONALITY PLUS!! The surroundings were very peaceful ... you really felt that you were "away from it all" and able to kick back and relax. Marianne was incredibly helpful with suggestions for everything including dinner arrangements. She's an amazing cook ... presentation was gorgeous and flavour was unbeatable. I look forward to a return visit very soon!
