I wanted to try something different on our return trip from Bella Coola and loved this lodge. The owners and staff were so friendly and welcoming. The dinner was delicious (and a great bottle of wine!). I just loved how they kept so many things intact from the previous years, taking you back in time. I read a previous review that said 'the place needs updating'. It's supposed to look like that! It's history! We had a room with a shared bathroom (there were 2 right across the hall) which was not an issue at all. It's not far from Farwell Canyon which is definitely worth a drive.

Our 2 nights at the Chilcotin Lodge were a wonderful way to bookend our pack-riding trip in the mountains. We were late returning on the second night, but Chris was waiting for us with supper. It felt so nice to be expected and welcomed like this! The Lodge is wonderful, just steeped in history and stories, but the true heart of the Lodge is Chris, Brenda and Kurt. You feel like you in an extension of their home, and that you are their only guest. Really a lovely time, highly recommended. This will always be our stopping point when in the area. Sonya

Outstanding hospitality, good food, clean and comfortable! Hard working owners make this lodge…almost like a huge B&B. A group of guys on our adventure bikes, well situated for our Gang Ranch tour, this lodge did not disappoint! We hope to visit again😎

My partner and I went here for a short birthday get away, and we couldn't have been more happy with our choice. Beautiful lodge, cute rooms and a clean, friendly atmosphere all lent itself to a perfect stay. The food was top notch, and the cook was very good with working any dietary restrictions we had. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and it was too easy to just sit and talk with them for hours. We are definitely making sure to keep this amazing place in our weekend travel list!

We had a wonderful time at this lodge and stayed for 3 nights. The owners are so friendly and attentive to providing the best service. We loved the character of this historic lodge and sitting outside taking in the view of the rolling hills and sky was so peaceful. The location is great for making your way to Farwell Canyon. On one of the days, it was raining hard so we just stayed in enjoying all the amenities like our cozy room, the pool table, wood burning fireplace, board games and the library of western DVDs. We ate dinners and breakfasts at the lodge and all our meals were great. We definitely want to stay at the lodge again!

The service at the Chilcotin Lodge is second to none. If you have any wants or needs they will accommodate you. The rooms are true to the age of Lodge, clean and cozy. I have stayed twice at the Lodge and have enjoyed each visit immensely.

We had such a wonderful time at this lodge. The owners are incredibly welcoming and friendly, and it was fun to share our travel stories and learn more about their history. They have preserved the history of the place so well in the decor and atmosphere, while ensuring the amenities are up-to-date for optimal comfort. Some of the rooms have shared washrooms, but it's all part of the experience. We got there before dinner and enjoyed a beer on the front lawn, then a game of pool. Great place to relax and unwind. Loved sitting on the chairs out front and watching the sunset while the horses wandered past.

Had a great couple days here in early October. Great scenery, winding river rolling hills full of cattle. Great dining. For example steak, chicken and roasts for dinner and for breakfast piles of bacon and fresh baked scones. Great hosts most of all!

I chose to stay at this historic lodge in August 2021 for three reasons: great and super friendly hosts, beautiful heritage building in a quite setting and wonderful surroundings . The new hosts Brenda and Kurt are very helpful and based on our experience we will return again in September 2021 .
