The Chalets at the Whistling Frog are very comfortable with all the luxuries needed. fully self contained so you can look after yourself and have quiet time. or you can eat at the Whistlin Frog cafe - good bar and resturant quality food. relaxed and comfortable service. the variety of bush walks, fatanstic bird life, beach time, past history makes for...

Thanks for your thoughts, the chalets are a great choice. People really do enjoy our excellent restaurant.

It's very convenient for getting to McLean Falls, and other attractions. The facilities were basic, but clean. It wasn't very busy when we were there, but there was plenty of space for camper vans. The onsite restaurant/bar was great. The steak I had was amazing.

On the positive side, the hot shower, the kettle, and the heaters worked. They have some tea and coffee sachets for a morning drink if you fancy. It's also nice to hear the birds outside in the mornings. The staff at the reception was friendly. Understand that they are making efforts to overhaul the bathrooms, which may take some time....

Maybe you didn't eat in the restaurant, it is,a lot of fun, part of the, experience. We do our best with what is available out in this wilderness location and the wifi is 'free'... When everyone gets on it it does slow it down. But it is not designed for downloading movies. It is for checking emails. .. it's an expensive...

The receptionist at the Laughing Frog Café was friendly enough: “Just choose any space you like!”. But when we looked around, most places were taken. That is to say: at each ‘mushroom’ with two power outlets, a single camper was positioned alongside the outer wall, in fact taking two sites instead of one. We found a free mushroom, but a...

What a lot of interesting discussion. It's called camper van politics.. the people were being rude, I quite agree. We did try to help you and it was sorted as you agreed. The showers have tiled floors so that when everyone is showering the water drains away. There are no leaks, as water is precious in this part of the...

We were in a motorhome. Well signposted fro main road. Basically an open gravel car park, but with good facilities. The on-site restaurant and bar had a very extensive menu (and excellent beer). A nice site to stay at.

Mixed feelings on this place. We booked here as it was the only place with availablity, and it was also called The Whistling Frog Resort. (Resort sounded good) Grounds layout is pleasant, and probably ok/average for a standard holiday park with cabins, villas, and motel units. The villas and cabins looked very good from exterior. But we had a Queen...

Robert, A 'resort' is basically a one stop destination where you can get everything you need including accommodation, great food and beverages, without leaving the property. So we do tick all the boxes. You are right there is very little else around. But you should be thankful that we have taken the huge financial risk of building this in the...

Great site with great bar and restaraunt, try the steamed Chinese pork buns, if the chef wants to pass on his recipe for them I'd be very gratefull! You can't really go wrong here, friendly staff and gorgeous location. We arrived early to do laundry so picked our own camper site near the toilet/kitchen block. If you're taking your time...

Thank you for appreciating the hard work that our staff and team members have put into this property. We planted thousands of flaxes and native flowering plants to attract the bellbirds and tui's for our guests to experience these wonderful songsters...

Booked in for 2 nights, we enjoyed ourselves very much. Restaurant staff excellent, they made every effort to be hospitable. Our evening meals were well presented and tasted good. The place was very busy which is a good indication of how valued it is. The bathrooms are tired and in need of an overhaul and I understand this is on...

Glad you enjoyed your stay and celebrating your 60th. Motel bathrooms have been a priority, but as you can imagine the costs of running a facility of this large scale in the middle of the rainforest are daunting. Going into our tenth year, we have talked to the bank really, really nicely and we now have the funds allocated to...

We stayed in a standard double room. The rooms are part of an hotel which has been transported there to create accomodation. The styling of the room was old fashioned and especially the bathroom needs an update. There are cabins available which look far more attractive. But beside this the bed was good and it was quiet. In this remote...

We didn't know how this project would go and most of the $millions we spent unfortunately went into the underground to build the infrastructure to support this very large property, with no city services. The motels were a way to get the property off the ground, as were the cabins, so they have been refurbished and we felt people would...

Glad you enjoyed your stay. Strange that you booked a table and then cancelled? Tables are at a premium at dinner service and dining guests are waiting for their dinner so if you are not dining it is polite to give up your table. Maybe you took things the wrong way?
