Eyeries, renowned for its multi-coloured houses and its panoramic views over the Atlantic, has 2 pubs, a shop, a café, a restaurant and post office. It has won gold and silver awards in its category of the Tidy Towns competition.

We revisited Inches house & boat angling centre ,we love this part of the world Maree & John make you very welcome, as do the locals, lovely countryside & coastline.

My family spent four nights at Inches House in the Miskish Cottage, which became our home away from home. John and Maree ensured that we had everything to make ourselves comfortable, and even provided delicious fresh eggs from their ducks and hens that live on the property. John and Maree are very knowledgeable about the area and were able to make a lot of good suggestions for sight-seeing activities. After long days exploring Beara, we enjoyed cuddling up on the couch in the cottage and watching dvds on the flatscreen television.

I recommend this to anyone planning a trip to Beara, especially if you are fishing. The hosts are really helpful and the cottages are well equipped and comfortable. The area is beautiful and locals very friendly. Eyeries is 5mins walk away and is a pretty little town with a nice pub. Castletown is 15mins drive and bigger with plenty of restaurants. The advice we were given on fishing was invaluable and nothing was too much trouble. We caught lots of fish and that was in a week that was judged very slow from a fishing point of view.
