I have been to the Sunshine Coast Resort & Marina quite a few times. This is my first time writing a review.

I wanted to take the time to share my experiences at the resort.

Every time I go to the resort I notice how beautifully well kept it is. The resort itself was built with wonderfully classic architecture. When I am at the resort walking around, I find myself admiring the age and strength of the massive stone retaining walls throughout the property. Built in a timeless way with beautiful old moss growing all over them.

The marina is perfect, being a sheltered cove it is very calm and peaceful. With lots of dock space and options for getting out on the water. The marina activities make the resort very enjoyable, and the management and staff are always amazing helping me get things set up.

I also find when I go there many days I do nothing. I just relax, rest and recharge.

ok, that’s all hope you enjoy too!!

amazing hotel and resort! we had such a great time. the Chalet was so nice, spacious and cozy. Had everything we needed, with grocery stores near by and some great restaurants as well. The steam shower was amazing and the private jacuzzi was such a treat. Views from the deck were picturesque. The rooms are very very nice. The fireplace is shared with the living room and bedroom and keeps the entire place so warm. Hiking Mount Daniel was a great excursion. beautiful view at the top. There are some amazing restaurants nearby, The Trattoria at Ruby Lake was extremely delicious. Great Italian cuisine. All in all I would recommend this place to everyone, great for families too.

The general manager of the resort greeted us with such exuberance that we felt like VIPs. Of all the places we stayed on the Sunshine Coast this was the most comfortable and relaxed. The view from our room of the harbor was wonderful. We were able to use their kayaks to explore the harbor and watch the eagles. We also made use of their hot tub at sunset and the barbeques to grill locally caught fish for dinner. We will recommend this resort to everyone traveling to the area.

Booked room couple months in advance, check in is at 3pm and we arrived at 7pm. After driving over 7 hours to get here including ferry reservations. There was no one available to check us in. No one to answer the phone either. After quite some time a family member of the owner showed up to let us know the room wasn't ready and wouldn't be cleaned anytime soon. She looked frazzled and was very apologetic. The owner/manager wasn't anywhere to be seen. She was just helping out to try to keep things afloat. She showed us the room and it was horribly disgusting. Full of bottles of booze, dirty bedsheets and absolutely filthy. This was not something I would even consider staying in for one minute let alone three nights. We left promptly and then headed back to Sechelt and were scrambling for a hotel after 8:30pm on a Saturday night in August. Steer clear of this hotel. Management is a disaster. Even getting a reply from my emails were non-existent and they don't answer their phone. Don't trust this hotel, its a waste of time and effort, especially since travel to this area takes a lot of planning.

Overpriced for what you get

Liked · Location was nice and views were great. It was nice to have a full kitchen and a king sized bed.

Disliked · We booked this property because it was advertised as having a hot tub but when we arrived we were told it wasn't working. The rooms were also a bit warn and and the blinds had a thick layer of dust, the water didn't taste good at all and there were stains on the carpet. For $360/night the value just wasn't there, we felt like we didn't get our money's worth and were expecting a nicer room for that high of a price.

We had an executive cottage which has one bedroom and a loft. Due to the loft style there is no privacy upstairs and the one bedroom on the main floor has a see through fireplace that is shared between the room and living room. The cottage we were in the fireplace vent slats were broken which allowed more heat from the pilot lite into the bedroom and more noise from the living room. As we had a child with us, it was really hard to find a quite place for her to sleep when the adults were awake.
The beds were quite hard but the pillows were nice and squishy!
The main bathroom had a special steam shower but most of it was broken. The main waterfall shower and one of the handheld but none of the rest. It did have nice water pressure though.
It has a large deck which has a planter dividing it from the other cottage deck. Each cottage has its own hot tub. We were disappointed there wasn’t a gate or more clear distinction as the people at the neighbouring cottage kept walking through our deck while we were on it (which is an issue during COVID). Our hot tub was new and lovely but it kept tripping the power. We loved having our own BBQ but it was dirty when we arrived and we needed to get the staff to bring a new propane tank.
The staff on site were wonderful and very helpful. We enjoyed our stay but if returning to the area we would likely stay at Painted Boat (which we’ve stayed at previously) unless there was a particular reason we wanted a private hot tub

We had a two night stay at the Sunshine Coast Resort. Set in beautiful surroundings, our view of the Marina was spectacular, especially with a morning coffee! The General Manager Zeb, was incredibly helpful suggesting places to visit and eat in the local area. Great amenities! Would recommend to anyone that is in this area!

This is a very nice spot for a 2 day get away. Our suite included separate king bedroom, full kitchen and a balcony that overlooked a local marina. The resort is located close to all town amenities and easy driving distance to many walking and hiking locations. Resort Manager provided excellent care. Suite is somewhat dated but is well maintained and all aspects cleaned and cared for. Only real minus was a spotty WIFI reception which the Resort advised was due to their internet provider. Not a big issue for a casual guest with other interests but could be one for guest reliance. There is a hot tub but it is located a fair distance from suites requiring navigation of a several flights of external stairs. Overall an enjoyable and peaceful stay.

Wonderful stay at Sunshine Coast Resort Hotel & Marina this fall season. The penthouse apartment was beautifully decorated with a gas fire and great views over the harbour and marina. We hired a boat from the resort and had a wonderful 1/2 day exploring the harbour and surrounding bays.
