Only local people who knew what is out here know about this hotel. I was where by chance but enjoyed my stay a lot. People mostly stay here to enjoy the cannel and to just rent a boat and enjoy the views.
Nice staff, the hotel is on the older side but well maintained. Large rooms! Especially for us that are coming for North America, these tiny rooms in Europe are really annoying. However, for a change, I enjoyed a large room in this hotel. Nice balcony with views of cannel.
Perfect breakfast in the morning. You wouldn't see smoked salmon in the menu of most of most hotels!!!
And pricewise, you get the most out of your money, with staying here.
All in all, it was an enjoyable stay.

The hotel located in a beautiful recreational area North of Copenhagen between 3 idyllic lakes that I Know well from having lived in Bagsværd in the 70's and 80's. It is clearly a congress hotel, but OK as a single recreational visitor. Check-in was efficient, neither warm nor the opposite, though when asking why they required to know my birthday, got a nonsense-reply (and being a privacy hawk, I gave them a close enough fake!) The room was standard, with no A/C during this very hot Summer in Denmark, so I once again was saved by my powerful travel Fan! The veranda had a nice view across one of the waterways used by sailors and boats, but load neighbors, with the woman talking non-stop took some of the serenity away! Nice warm and cold breakfast, but with no espresso machine as is common at hotel morning buffets. Free parking.
All in all an OK stay, especially since the price + a rental car still made it cheaper than staying in Copenhagen proper. I would stay there again

The restaurant had a very cozy, candle lit ambience. The lighting was quite poor but it may also be partly that we arrived at 6-7 and left at 8. Service was delightful with the servers being there for our questions and to serve, they where very kind polite, well dressed, and appropriate for the environment in the restaurant. Beautiful views from the seats.

The servers had some misunderstanding probably due to miscommunications, we received 2x the starting snack, a happy mistake. One of the guests ordered two meals from the menu, being the main and the dessert, but they brought out a starter and main, the extra starter was on the house due to the mistake on their part.

Our main server was Abagail and she was very kind and fast with delivering the food and explaining the menu for non danish speakers.

The food was very good although a small menu all the food tasted good, I would recommend the de-boned chicken with carrots and sauce with potatoes. The prices were moderate.

This hotel used to be my hotel of choice when visiting, but the last two visits have been disappointing. The friendly staff and tasty breakfast used to make up for the thin walls, and run down rooms, however lately the quality has gone downhill and I will look for a different option next time. My bathroom stunk of mould and urine. The noise from my neighbours was so disruptive I had to use ear plugs, I could hear every one of their conversations as if they were in the same room. The good quality of the breakfast used to be a selling point, but it's really been toned down so that the only option for me was yoghurt. Wished there'd at least been a boiled egg, and not just the very undercooked bacon/egg cup available. It's a shame really. Personnel and location the only joys of this stay unfortunately.

I spend a night here on business last week.

The hotel is not special or exiting, but the location is fantastic, right by the river leading down to the lake.

The food was ok, but nothing more. They served the potatoes in those metal containers you usually use at nursing homes – kind of funny given that they clearly wants to give the expression of a upscale place.

Ask for at room with an even number and you will have a great view with a fantastic roof terrace, the room is also just ok, so if I had been given one of the rooms facing the road and without the terrace this review would be a rating lower.

Rooms with our balcony, nice area in winter or summer. Great for groups I was there in winter with the landscape around it covered with snow, we were lucky that the sun was shining, It was fantastic. For groups: great service, water, tea, coffee, bread, cheese, available if your staying for the whole day. We were served hot chocolate and a bun with butter and jam outside in the snow! We needed to go out after a day´s work inside. Great idea.

We payed a premium price to stay at Frederiksdal, but the stay felt nothing like premium. In pictures the hotel looks beautiful, but in reality this is just a facade. As soon as you get inside it becomes obvious that this is an old institution from the seventies which has been renovated to look like a modern hotel outside. The inside doors and skirtings look very worn down, and the interior has a old seventies mood to it.
There is no aircon in the rooms and our room was above 27℃ when we arrived. The large windows could not be opened, so the only option was to open the door to the balcony, but the balconies are shared among rooms, and who would want to sleep with the next door neighbour being able to walk straight in?
The water pressure was ridiculously low. Turning my showering handle upside down, the water could only rise 2-3 centimeters above the handle (see photo where the warm faucet is fully open) — bathing took ages.
The hotel had a nice terrasse, but in the morning I was the only one sitting out there because most tables were littered with bird pooh, which the staff had not bothered to remove.
On the plus side: The room was perfectly clean, breakfast was tasty, and the hotel is situated in beautiful surroundings.
Conclusion: For their premium price you can stay in so many other hotels which have proper air conditioning and an reasonable water pressure.

Chose to stay at this hotel - one I have neither seen, let alone considered before, for a recent business trip.

Pleasantly surprised by the size of the room (room 115). The bathroom is very large, there is enough space between the door and the desk to be able to pace a little when taking a phone call ( :-) ) and something I did not expect - there is a small outside area to get some fresh air.

I am very likely to choose to return here again. Everything was smooth. No delay at check in, WiFi easy to register on and the signal is good. Free Hot drinks including excellent coffee in the mid afternoon, and located in a wonderful little area next to a river and a short walk from the lake.

p.s. I amongst the options that I have for my review, I am asked if this is a 'budget', 'mid-range', or a 'luxury' hotel. I have marked it budget, because of the value i felt I got from my stay.

I stayed three days at Sinatur Hotel Frederiksdal at the beginning of April as part of a course on the national, financial, budget-system. Thus, we spent a lot of time in one of the conference rooms and the adjacent balcony, with view of the whole area. We were lucky with the weather but the hotel has a perfect location right next to a big stream and lots of forest. The rooms were large and wonderful, with big windows and a nice bathroom. The food was amazing; organic, fresh and diversified, and a lot of old-school, local and seasonal ingredients was used.
Due to the location of the hotel it's most convenient to go there by car, but a bus runs by every once in a while. However, if you are a cyclist like me, I can recommend the ride as you'll have a wonderfully, picturesque trip through the forest.

we stayed 3 nights(17-20aug) in this hotel. it s located in a very ecological environment.
a lot people are starting a kayak or boat tour near the hotel.
the hotel is clean and nice, very friendly and helpful staff.
the breakfast is rich, they even serve glutenfree bread , what ok is for me and my son.
there is no pool (actually bit a pity , after a bc day a dip in the water is relaxing)
the rooms are big enough for a city visit to kopenhagen or a business trip or a hiking experience. nice spacious bathroom , what do you need more? just perhaps one thing , there is no fridge in the room, that will be helpfull to store some things for your journey wherever you go as drinks or any food that can be bad when stored outside .
money/value is fair enough for what you get . the beds are ok . actually no bad words.
parking is free too, al lot of space and safe , just be aware when going out with your car, the road is kind of bc , the cars r driving fast on the street , even tough it is a 30 zone ..and look out for bikers also, they r coming from a hill and having a high speed at the exit / entrance of the parking.
