Scandic Eremitage is situated in "The Green Area" near the forest, beach and sea, yet it's right in the heart of Lyngby. The hotel is easy to reach - just a few minutes from the E47, at exit 16 - and is near the train station in Lyngby. The hotel was thoroughly renovated in 2002, while at the same time the entrance was moved to the second floor.

The hotel is located right in the city center of Lyngby and therefore in walking distance to everything of interest. I also want to mention the very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely people! But here the positive feedback already ends.
The hotel is in a relatively poor condition. The furniture is old and worn out, especially in the rooms. Everything looks a bit shabby (but not in the stylish meaning). The bed was noisy and the upper mattress didn't even fit the width of the bed. The bathroom was poorly cleaned and very stinky. You don't want to touch the shower curtain. I recommend to close eyes and nose when using the bathroom. The entire hotel desperately needs renovation. I was also surprised to see that there was obviously no room service during the day. First I thought it was a mistake, but talking to my colleagues revealed, that all experienced the same.
The breakfast is okay as long as you don't drink what they call coffee. I would not recommend!
For such a low standard and level of service the hotel is way too expensive!

This hotel has seen better days and parts need renovation such as poor bathrooms.

Rooms not cleaned unless you advise them the day before!
Very high price for what is a middle level hotel.

Good location.

Good bar / restaurant man, he has to work very hard on his own - I hope the hotel appreciate him and his professionalism, he also jas good humour too which is nice to experience.

Breakfast in Denmark but there is no bacon! Why? Scrambled eggs are the worst ever, they are cheap powder mixed with hot water.

Evening meals very good but very expensive.

Stayed here for one night and the hotel was decent. We were a bit unsure after reading many bad reviews ahead of arrival, but it did the job. The rooms are old and in definite need of updating soon, but our main issue was the paper thin walls. Also whoever designed the building with multi level fire escapes outside (where there should be balconies instead), should have lost his/her job. Free parking was also a positive as well as a free drink for the kids and glass of wine/beer for adults in the bar.

The main negative however was the breakfast, which at Scandic hotels in Denmark seems to have been totally neglected. Here, a lot of the food was also placed in small glass containers which was not very practical but also made it become very moist with lids on. Small selection of spreads and only one type of cheese (which was not very neutral).

Hi Thomas, I appreciate you taking the time to post the review about your stay. Our breakfast is usually one we receive positive feedback on, and I'm sorry you didn't find more options for the cheese. We should have a minimum of 3 options of cheese, and I am sorry this was not the case during your breakfast. I'm glad you and the kids enjoyed the drinks and hope to see you again when your travels brings you to the area. Best regards Frode

The title should say it all but TA wants 200 characters. I TRULY regret not taking photos of that nasty tub! I usually give bad-feedback / constructive criticism privately, but I guess I have a responsibility to warn travelers away.

"Why", you may ask? My corporate travel partner booked through HOTELS . com and the hotel and booking services are balking at issuing a refund. I was originally booked for a seven (7) night stay but left the following morning after never unpacking. I complained about the dirty room, unsightly floors in my room, broken toilet seat, and moldy tub. Maintenance came for the toilet, housekeeping ran dry mop. Nothing was done for the moldy tub!

Oh, and it seems I received a parking ticket there too! I The pay-kiosk was nowhere near the underground parking lot’s entrance or exit nor along the pathway to the hotel lobby elevator from the carpark and I didn’t recognize the Danish directing me elsewhere.

Ok, this isn't EXACTLY about the hotel, but kind of IS about the hotel! Arriving after international travels after 9PM, there was NO option for food on the premises and when asking the desk was advised there was a 711 nearby. That's it, no bar/pub, café or restaurant open passed 9PM (well Burger King was open but really :-))

My husband and I stayed at Scandic Eremitagen for two nights. Accomodation can easily be booked on the Scandic homepage but my computer 'teased' me, so Scandic helpfully booked our stay. Our room was fine, the bathroom a little bit worn - but all clean! - and beds and linen so nice. Very fine breakfast. Super location right in centrum, above the shopping center and just a little walk from the S-train station and busses. Finally very helpfull personel at the front desk 😊

We booked 2 family rooms for our family of 6 pax. Each room came with 2 twins and 1 queen bed which was comfortable for our sleeps. The rooms are quite dated and definitely needs an uplift. Equipment in the room were very minimal - no kettle or mini-fridge was very inconvenient for us. I had the most frustrating experience with their key cards which were very sensitive and do not work every day and we had to go to the reception counter to get them changed daily which was not rather inconvenient (we stayed for 4 nights so I had to make this change 4-5 times). The breakfast was the most enjoyable experience though it would be good if they could vary the items day to day to throw in some variety. Not a place I would come back to.

I stayed at this hotel for a business trip. It’s in a perfect location and only a 10 minute walk to the train station and also surrounded by lots of shops and shopping centres. The hotel itself is good, the lobby and restaurant are very modern. The food in the restaurant is lovely, we had dinner there one evening and I ordered a prawn Caesar salad and it was huge! The breakfasts are lovely too, lots to choose from. The bedrooms however are a bit of a let down. They are very old and worn and need a lot of love! The bedrooms are also very warm and there is no aircon to cool them. There is however a fan in the wardrobe which came in handy. I was tempted to open the balcony door a smidge but after opening I realised that everyone shares the same balcony and put me off. I will say the beds do not look much but they are so comfy!! Perfect after a long day walking around the city. I would recommend this hotel to business workers but not for tourists. There is no where to chill in the room unless you sit on the bed.

This hotel is run by humans not machines :-)

I had travel for a few weeks and booked this hotel. Started interacting with the hotel reception/reservation team for changes, travel suggestions, and booking details and it was good 2-3 weeks of engagement.

On the day of check-in, due to personal challenges, I couldn't stay in the hotel. I explained the situation, and they supported me emotionally and then also agreed to refund the deposit / no cancellation fees.

WOW, what a place it will be, which has such ''excellent customer service'' as they value humans more than mere dollars.

Thank you, team, so grateful

Have a great day ahead cheers.

Hi - As far as I see on the map there is a kind of park area to the east of the shopping mall. Maybe you can run there, but I haven't been there personally. The mall (where the hotel is) is situated in the center of Kongens Lyngby and I would not advise to run there.

Dear Unetice, Thank you for your clarification. Your experience is far below our standards for cleaning for which I deeply apologize. Please note that we take extreme pride in keeping our hotels up to the highest cleaning standards, but clearly something fell through in the cleaning process during your stay with us. Thanks for taking the time to give your feedback and once again, I apologize. If you would like to discuss this further, please contact me directly so we can take the proper action regarding the issue and your stay with us and hopefully welcome you back to Scandic Eremitage. Best regards, Maia Albrechtsen
