We are staying in a sea view suite for 3 adults, but the accommodation for the 3rd adult is simply ridiculous and completely unreasonable given the price. This is a bed that may work for small children, but it is not at all a 5-star bed for an adult. A bed that is only 90 cm wide and 1.8 cm long, meaning an adult cannot fit in the bed.

The hotel's location is excellent, just a 5-minute walk from the beach via scenic boardwalks over protected dunes. This setting offers a beautiful and serene environment.
The hotel boasts six attractive pools, making it a great choice for families. The facilities are generally child-friendly, though the overall experience leans more towards a 4-star rather than a 5-star level.
We stayed in spacious and nicely designed Junior Suites. However, the bathrooms are notably small and lack adequate ventilation, which was a bit of a letdown. Despite booking as a family and requesting close proximity, the hotel was unable to accommodate us in nearby rooms. We ended up with one suite in the main building and another two buildings away.
The reception staff seemed utterly unmotivated, making us immediately question our choice of hotel. The check-in process was cumbersome and they neglected to secure a credit card, preventing us from charging items to our room. On the bright side, the service staff were very courteous and attentive.
Communication prior to arrival was poor, with the hotel providing incorrect or incomplete information. The spa was still under renovation, despite an email stating it would reopen a month prior. While they arranged access to a sister hotel's spa as a temporary solution, this was not ideal.

Just back from a lovely stay. Lovely quiet location right on the beach. We got a room upgrade to a junior suit on arrival so that was a lovely surprise. Staff were lovely and breakfast buffet had plenty of choice. We requested an iron and board when we arrived and had them delivered to our room within 10 minutes. Also on the last day after check out we had nowhere to charge our phones and they had no problem letting us charge them at the pool bar. Found the staff very helpful and friendly. Drinks were a little pricey but that was to be expected in a 5 star resort. We were able to get two toasted sandwiches, chips, 2 beers and a glass of wine in the old town for the same price as a beer and cocktail in the hotel. There was no shops or bars in walking distance but an Uber to the old town was only around €10. We were attending a wedding at Lady of the rock (chapel nossa) and reception at pink house, Villa Rosa so this hotel was a perfect location for us being 10 minutes from the ceremony, reception and the old town. We had lunch in the hotel 2 days and one day in the salgodos beach bar and all meals were lovely. We went to the spa 3 times. €10 each per visit and was a lovely, clean, relaxing spa. Pool areas were very clean. It’s a lovely hotel for couples but I felt if we had our 2 children with us there wouldn’t have been enough to keep them entertained for a holiday. I felt it was more a 4 star hotel but for some minor reasons based on a 5 star hotel we usually go to. The hotel could do with a little paint touch up in areas and slight modernisation in areas, there was no night time entertainment, there didn’t seem to be much entertainment or classes on during the days, the pool bar didn’t serve food and could have done with a little more selection. Like I said these weren’t major issues wouldn’t stop me from going back. If your looking for a nice, quiet hotel close to the old town but not to close then this is perfect.

Pension apartment in the NAU group where it is good to rest in peace. The welcome is personalized. A fountain provides detox hydration that varies every day. The pools are giant and very well maintained. The park is beautiful and the sea nearby. Half board is delicious , varied , colorful based on very good products . The breakfast is varied and hearty but we would have liked to take it outdoors on the terrace. In the bathroom , good toiletries are offered brand L’occitane I believe as well as a soft bathrobe. A pleasant smell perfumes the corridors. The staff is discreet smiling and charming .Little flats however: the rooms are small very small without an armchair to sit or drop off qq belongings ( 2 little poufs only) . Closet poorly appointed due to cramped and bathroom minimum equipment. The balcony is pleasant Unfortunately access to the SPA was not possible that week. The lack of adjoining parking is not a problem.

Just back from a weeks stay at this hotel and it was overall really good, perfect for relaxation and a quiet time away. Customer service at desk was amazing as got upgraded to suite as soon as we checked in! Staff in bar area were very nice as well.
However be willing to spend money on ubers/taxis as quite far out from busy areas if that is what you are looking for, ubers are still very cheap, especially to old town, under 10 euros. There are only a couple of restaurants around this hotel, supermarket 5 minute walk away.
Many swimming pools and lounging areas aroud the hotel and do not have the same race to have to get a sun lounger in the morning like many other hotels. Lovely walk down to the beach and connecting resorts.
Cleaners were great however we would see the cleaners in our block first thing in morning and assume that our suite was to be cleaned, however our room was not cleaned every day until late afternoon. Slightly inconvenient as this was when we were back in the room trying to get ready to go out for tea. However they always did a great job and were efficient, just didn't understand how our room was not cleaned first thing in the morning.

Booked this 5 star hotel as a present for my husband. It’s definitely not 5 star. Our room with a garden view was of a wall of grass, no views. The room was very basic not much storage and only 5 hangers between 2 of us for 10 days. Asked twice for some more but never received them. They said we could upgrade at an extra cost, I had already paid a lot of money, but they were fully booked. The location is not good if you haven’t got a car or have mobility issues, had to get taxis everywhere, there was nothing local and we were breakfast only. There was a pool bar and one in the hotel they were always empty, probably because it was so expensive. People brought their own drinks. There was also no entertainment. On the positive side the outside areas and pools were beautiful and the breakfast was lovely plenty of choice. The cleaning staff were great. Just be aware of these issues because if I had known I wouldn’t have booked it.

Poor service prior to arriving I called to confirm that we was able to add a 4th guest in our room as we had a last minute add on to our party they confirmed that would be perfectly fine and at a small fee & taxes to be added On arrival we was shocked to be told no this was not the case and there was nothing they could do and we would have to find alternative accommodation I had to Request to speak with the manger (who did not attend in person but via the phone after a 15 min wait they then agreed to add a 4th bed with an additional cost off 400 euros. Having no choice or be hotel less and loss the money had to agree and pay which we felt was an extremely unfair charge. The hotel was ok spa was closed only 1 helpful front desk member of staff who when asked questions didn’t feel like a burden told us we could use the other hotels spa a short walk away. Then when returning I then find out we was charged twice for the additional payment. Service needs to be worked on for a 4 plus hotel. Felt like everything was a trouble and not a nothing is to much trouble experience.

We have previously stayed next door at the VidaMaar hotel and decided this year we would try out this hotel.
1. Location is perfect - 40 mins from Faro and located 5 mins walk from the fabulous sandy beach.
2. Suite - We were in Block 1 in a Superior Family Suite (1304) with a pool view, this was a huge problem as directly below our suite is the hotel “Jazz Bar / restaurant”, which played live music outside every night and of course was were lots of loud people spent their evenings.
I cannot believe that any so called 5* establishment thinks that it’s acceptable to charge such a large price for a suite to then force parents with children to have to contend with loud music / noise.
The room itself was a good size but with a very odd cabinet in which there was a standard kitchen sink?? but no cutlery.
The shower room was okay, however, it look pretty frayed around the edges.
There was an espresso machine, however, you were only supplied with 2 capsules for the entirety of the stay!
The room was cleaned every day and was reasonably clean.
3. Restaurant, the main restaurant offered a buffet each evening, however, the food was never hot and often almost cold. Wine list was minimal.
4. Swimming pools - 6 swimming pools none of which are heated, my children were happy with the pools and there was never a problem getting loungers.
There is a daily bouncy castle with slide at the main pool that the children could slide into the water.
In the grounds of the hotel is a beach bar.
5. The Jazz Bar is without doubt the place to eat onsite as the food is very good.
6. The hotel complex takes its Covid rules very seriously and will stop anyone walking around inside without a mask.
Overall the Dunas Suite complex is okay if you are not in Block 1, but in my view it is nothing more than a very average 4* star hotel.

We have loved staying in this hotel. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The location for us is perfect as we have a car ( which I think you need staying here). The beach just a short stroll away is amazing. There are so many great restaurants around here The Jompra , O’hameiros, Luna ( Italian) Ramires ( for authentic Piri Piri chicken). Just to name a few. Albufeira is a ten/fifteen minute drive away. We stayed mid October and it was fairly quiet, we were fortunate enough to be offered a free upgrade to a suite. I celebrated my birthday whilst here and a cake and miniature port was delivered to our room, for my husband and I. The hotel is very clean, our only criticism is maybe the corridors need updating but we would 100% recommend this hotel from our experience and we would love to come back here next year.

The plus sides are this is a beautiful peaceful location and attractive resort . Very well maintained scenic grounds with private access straight on to the boardwalks and beach, so you can walk along the stunning coast either way. There’s a lovely fresh breeze straight off the Atlantic too. The suites have three large very well equipped bedrooms all with ensuites, and huge lounge/ kitchen area and ours had dual aspect balconies so we had sun all day until late on in the evening a lovely views off palm trees the pool and ocean . The hotel is very clean and the staff are very polite and pleasant. For us the downsides are the fact there is an excellent kids pool and club we passed each day, yet sadly the hotel hasn’t allocated one of its 6 beautiful pools to be over 16’s. This meant as a family with older teenagers and adults there were parents still using the other pools with large inflatables and screaming toddlers which is such a shame for the rest of the guests who want to chill out in peace and would be great if the hotel changed that policy for one adult pool ! The breakfast buffet area was too small for the volume of guests and quite over run with small children and young families and got pretty noisy and chaotic and often hard to find a table which was so disappointing . The breakfast food let’s this five star hotel down, tea and coffee are available in machines not served and dishes are slow to be cleared away due to the amount of guests ,the food was the same everyday and often things ran out and weren’t replenished quickly and there was no chefs on hand at stations preparing omelettes etc. These cons could be so easily rectified as it really is a lovely resort!
