NAU Salgados Palm Village Apartments receives mixed feedback from its guests. The spacious rooms and expansive balconies are often praised, yet many criticize the outdated decor and maintenance shortcomings. While the restaurant staff's attentiveness shines, other service aspects like reception and bar hospitality fall short, with complaints about rudeness and inefficiency. Guests find the location convenient for group and all-inclusive vacations, though it's not without its logistical challenges. The lively atmosphere and clean rooms are highlights, yet the hotel's value is questioned due to pricey extras and underwhelming meal quality. Amenities like multiple pools are popular, but inconsistencies remain a concern for some visitors.

Hotel is ideal for families, the rooms are spacious and have large terraces, the bed quite comfortable. Unfortunately the cleanliness leaves much to be desired, I have never seen a hotel of this category where the cleaning staff does not have towels to change (changed from 4 nights 1 time), the lamps full of lime, and the bathroom corners a horror. Mosquitoes stuck by the walls of the room, bread from previous guests under sofa on carpet.

Meals - all inclusive - must be booked time/table for all breakfasts, lunches and dinners which completely annoys the all inclusive experience. It has 3 dining rooms, the bbq restaurant I do not recommend as we have literally run out of dinner, there was a couple of bones left...the one that is supposed to be Italian is the best of the 3. Flavor food is fine, but there is not much variety. Restaurant staff are in a hurry to pick up everything, throwing trays, removing dishes or constantly asking if you’re done.

Another issue is an absolute lack of lifeguards in the pools or any security personnel in the complex, a little weird.

Finally the animation is loose and for the little ones are missing swings according to the need. In short I would not return, for the price there are many better hotels

Me and the wife came here for 4 days and overall wasn’t impressed. The rooms were spacious with massive balcony space and room service was great with cleaning the room and stocking up cold water for you. The bars and restaurants served everything in plastic cups which is understandable being you are surrounded by pools. The mixed drinks are a gamble, you either get a well mixed drink or dumping it out and getting a different one. The food here is awful and would rather eat at a McDonald’s every night but, unfortunately there isn’t any other accommodations within walking distance to this resort which leaves you paying for an Uber or taxi to the nearest town.

Dear Guest, We thank you for choosing NAU Salgados Palm Village for your stay and for taking your time to review us We are delighted to note that you were happy with the room. Regarding the plastic and paper cups, considering that all the restaurants are next to the pool area, we must say that on top of our priorities are the Welfare and Security of our guests as a Family Resort. Also regarding the cups, despite they are plastic, please note that at the moment, most of them are recyclable. Others are made by recycled paper. We have just returned from our week stay with our two children aged 2 and 6. We travelled with friends who had a 5 year old and 1 year old also.
First of all the positives:-
- Rooms are lovely, spacious with huge balcony’s and we had a sink, microwave, fridge/freezer and kettle in the room. Air con worked well as did the shower. Only downside was no where at all to put clothes except one tiny rail, no draws, which is strange considering the size of the rooms. Always cleaned well and fresh towels.
- 10 pools all of which were great temperatures and not too cold even for the little ones.
- Majority of the restaurant and bar staff were friendly and plenty of drink options including cocktails
- we enjoyed karaoke night and some of the other entertainment they had in the evening
- the spa in the adjacent hotel is lovely and worth a visit but you do have to pay 10 euros to do so.
- the little train which takes you to the beach is nice and runs every half an hour. One day we went just for a ride and didn’t even get off as my toddler liked the train. It’s still a little walk from
The train drop off to the actual beach.
- loads of sunbeds even in July in summer hols we didn’t have to rush to reserve beds or ever have difficulty getting sunbeds

Now the negatives:-
- the food is limited in options and quality. It’s not what we would call 4 star and one of the most basic and limited menus/options we’ve come across on an all inclusive. We went to the marina one night for a meal which was only around 5 euros in a taxi. We only needed to do this due to the lack of decent dinner options in the hotel.
- the booking 4 hours before your meal is ridiculous and just doesn’t work. If we were told about this before booking we wouldn’t have booked. Having said this we were always let into dinner but you just feel like you’re being told off or an inconvenience every time.
- kids club is not supervised, in that you don’t sign them in or leave them and have to stay with them the whole time which really defies the whole point which again wasn’t made clear when booking.
- there’s only 2 bars, the pool bar which is only open in the day and then the lobby bar. For the size of the hotel it’s quite ridiculous, and did mean long queues at times.
- the check in process was tediously long even though we got a private transfer so we were the only ones checking in, check out was fairly slow too.
- there’s a lack of day time entertainment for the children. The blow up slide but that’s really the main thing
- 20 euro deposit per towel
- the hotel shop is small ridiculously overpriced even more than usual so take your own floats etc or jump in an Uber to the nearest shopping centre for around 4 euros
- the transfer time is over an hour and a half so we instead decided to pay for private transfers which was 50 euros for an 8 seater.

We had a good week because we were on holiday and making the most of time together, great weather and being with friends but we wouldn’t return to this hotel.

We called this the "Brown Hotel" as nearly everything there is brown! Curtains, net curtains, doors, floor tiles, wall tiles, doors & headboards! Even the tiles in the pools are brown which made the pools look very uninviting.
On arrival the staff were less than friendly and most spoke very little English.
The bathroom has a hand soap dispenser fixed to the wall and in the shower room there was shower gel fixed to the wall. There were no other toiletries and we would
expect a supposed "4 star" hotel to at least provide shampoo.
Food in the dining room was poor and more than often cold. Wine served in plastic
glasses and coffee & tea in paper cups.
The bar was a pretty awful experience too. There only ever seemed to be one person serving and no one to control the sometimes very rowdy behaviour we witnessed there. The toilets for the bar are situated outside.
We were only there for five nights (thank goodness) and we tried to make the best of
our time there.
We enjoyed the golf course on site although it is a 10 minute walk carrying our clubs from the hotel and there is no transport to get there. (We did ask but were told no transport available)
On the morning of our departure it was raining and we were being picked up at 8am and when we asked for a porter to collect our luggage we were told they didn't start until 8am so we had to make our own way to reception making our way there down through the hotel carpark to avoid getting soaked.
When we checked out there were no friendly words from the reception staff - no asking if we enjoyed our stay - maybe as they possibly knew what the answer might be!!
I'm sorry to say this is one of the worst hotels we have stayed in and fortunately we
will never be back.

All bad.
Check in - long hours in line
Room - full of dust all over, awful noise from the works of the building in front (even with serva made on the site, the assigned room had views of a building in works)
Environment - full of guests who didn't know how to behave: eating, drinking and smoking inside the pool (security make sure they don't see). Guests' sound columns are higher than the hotel's own sound columns (unacceptable). By 17:30, dozens of seagulls came to eat the remains of food that some people left in the water. People spit on the floor, female toilet occupied by men.
Restaurant - the meals are good but the booking system (through an app with data requests) is ridiculous in an IT.
Bars - The bar in the lobby is disgusting (cups picked up but full of papers and food remains on the floor, sunshades full of mud). Chair in franca decomposition.
Paths - completely degraded and flooded. To enter the main restaurant you have to go through huge pools of dirty and stalled water (thanks that some people spit to the floor, which makes the stalled water of the roads unclean).
Check out - no one questions how the stay was (should be afraid to hear the answer), literally send the client.

A hotel that I have always had as a great reference. I regret that quality standards are in free fall.
First, the food... There are three restaurants available. A 'Churrasco', 'An Italian' and a 'Mediterranean' kitchen' are all in separate buildings. We were informed at the Check-in it would be necessary to reserve each meal, breakfast, lunch and dinner (for me it is an unacceptable situation in an IT regime), through a QR code, and for this, the connection to the hotel's Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi that did not require any password. In addition, the Reservation process was not much easier, it was necessary to enter the details of a representative guest in each of the bookings made.
The meals are of poor quality and very little varied:
- At breakfast the variety of bread/pastry is minimal, there are not, most of the time, fresh products; the charcutary was always of very poor quality, products of the cheapest that are found on the market and some of them with a doubtful appearance, the replacement is made with very bad will by the employees, they work frustrated; the coffee / gallon of the existing machines was super weak.
- For lunch/dinner there are, as I mentioned, three different restaurants. In the grilled restaurant "Churrasco", there was only chicken, snack and sausages. The "Italian", as far as Italian food is concerned, had only two kinds of cooked pasta, two kinds of sauces apart and three kinds of pizzas (all with very few ingredients and very little varied) that ended very quickly since, at least as far as I am concerned, it was the only thing that was used. Whenever the pizzas were finished, which happened very often, they placed a warning to justify the shortage due to the failure of the oven. We ate pizza and fries at every meal, during our 6 days of stay, very frankly, was the only thing that was enjoying.
- At the snack, which we only tried once, the quality failed again, the hamburgers looked very bad, very poor hygiene, the croissaints were not fresh, yet it was the only thing I ate.
The staff is neither qualified nor interested in the well-being of the customers, especially in the restaurants, they work frustrated, I only highlight two friendly and committed employees. The cleanliness of the dishes is poor, the dishes were often dirty.
The need to pay a deposit of 20€ for the use of the hotel towels is ridiculous.
Facilities in need of urgent renovation, the exterior lighting of the lateral buildings is bad, whenever we were going to the room, we had to turn on the phone flashlight. Unacceptable in a hotel that, I don't know how, is rated with 4 stars.
The rooms are huge, but the decor is outdated, sofas very old and very uncomfortable.
The rooms do not have the possibility of locking the inner lock, I did not feel safe in this regard. In all the hotels where I was, it was allowed to lock the room inside, which was essential for me during the night. They claimed it would be for guests' safety.
The phone call does not work. I was quite insistent and I was not taken care of in any of the numerous attempts.
The staff responsible for the cleaning of the room does not replace the bath gel/shampoo, I had to go to the reception because the telephone service, once again, failed.
The only positive point is really the exterior of the hotel, it has a lot of potential, I am very sorry that it is so poorly exploited.

In short: price / quality very unadjusted, the service is provided to the mass of services, not being personalized or adapted to the practiced values. It's not to repeat.

Me and my partner stayed here for 9 nights, it was a mostly positive stay but I’ll break it down.

Positives - pools are great, there’s 10 and they’re huge so finding a sun bed was never an issue for us at all, drinks selection is really good as well with smoothies of the day and cocktail menu including on the all inclusive. We didn’t have an issue with food at all there was always something to have out the 3 restaurants and we didn’t have an issue with cold food at any point of our stay. The rooms are massive and spacious and the huge balcony is a bonus for us! The restaurant staff were all friendly and attentive to guests, there was a particular man who worked on the door in the ‘Birdie’ restaurant who was absolutely amazing! Always smiling and joking with guests shame we didn’t get his name! Shuttle train to the beach was really useful as everything is quite far away from the hotel but Ubers were really cheap!

Negatives - the pool area floods ( obviously from people getting in and out the pool ) around the sunbeds so if you have any bags or clothing on the floor they will get soaking wet, luckily we always had a table so this didn’t happen! The hotel is quite a walk away from bars and restaurants so if you want to leave the hotel we used Uber to get around a lot as there isn’t much in walking distance. The reception staff when we checked in were really rude unfortunately but the rest of the staff at reception at check out thankfully were lovely! Our main shower wasn’t working properly so we had to use the hand held smaller shower not a problem for us but could be for some people

Overall a good stay, we probably wouldn’t stay again due to the hotel being quite far away from the old town but we would definitely recommend to people

Positive points: the bedroom and balcony are quite spacious. The coffee machines are very good.

Now the contras:
- bedroom: poor lighting, no TV in the bedroom, just in the living room, curtains were falling, bathroom amenities are very low than expected. Moreover, it lacks charm, as all the walls and furniture are of dark tones. The balcony, despite being large, only has a table and 4 plastic chairs.

- drinks: they only offer drinks with super sweet preparations or pure distillates. Juices, only industrialized, none natural.

- Staff: Most were friendly, but many barely speak Portuguese. There are some who ride golf carts inside the property at high speed, considering that they pass by places where there are pedestrians and children.

- Food: the food in the restaurants is ungrateful and there are no healthier options with excess salad. The hotel does not have tomo service (even if they charge on request, would be a good option)

- Pool and bar: the pools are good, but there is only 1 bar in 1 of the pools and there is no service in the others. There is a bail charge of 20 euros per towel.

- options for children: very weak. There's a pretty simple park, but it gets dark at night. The animation team worked hard, but I think even for them the hotel does not give many options.

- Maintenance: lack of good maintenance in certain parts of the hotel (as I said, the curtains of the room were fallen and in the elevator, for example, the walls and ceiling peeled).

- Cleaning: bathrooms of common areas generally dirty.

-- Check out: when we went the hotel was quite empty and we asked for a late check out. First they said there would be an entry in our room on the day (the hotel was empty), but then they offered a 1 hour extra late check out for 20 euros (leaving at 12:00 instead of 11:00). What about the check in that would happen in the room?

Overall, it was extremely disappointing. To have fun and eat well, we had to look outside the hotel.

Our family of five (two adults, two teens, one child) absolutely loved our stay at NAU Salgados Palm Village!

We arrived at midday and were able to access our room straight away. The suite was huge with a living area, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a large balcony accessible from all three rooms. The rooms were clean, withs beds made up daily and plenty of storage space for clothes, suitcases and everything else!

There are ten pools of differing sizes and depths around the resort. They were lovely and cool during the heat of the day. The main pool has an inflatable slide for kids brought out twice each day, and one the pools is used for adult water polo for an hour each day. People do claim the sun loungers with their towels, but there are still loungers free at 10am, and we usually managed to find at least one free lounger when we used the pool at different times of the day.

The hotel provides you with one pool towel per person on arrival and you can swap these for clean ones throughout the day. This is in addition to the towels that are provided in your room.

The foods is good, with plenty of choice that suited all tastes in our family. You have to book a one-hour time slot for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but this is less of a hassle than it sounds and it didn’t seem to matter if we were ten minutes early or twenty minutes later. There are also snacks available throughout the day outside of the main meal times.

The beach is a 15 minute walk away, but there is also a land train every 30 minutes that drops you off at the car park near to the beach.

I would happily return to the Palm Village and can recommend it to families seeking a relaxing all-inclusive holiday.

Read a lot of reviews about this and was slightly worried about what we would find however the short 4 night break we had was ideal, there were a lot of golfers there but they caused absolutely no problems and were actually really quite entertaining at times, the drinks are served in plastic cups which is understandable around the pool but maybe not in the main entertainment area though people did get their drinks there to take to pool area so fair enough, not a deal breaker. The three restaurants were fine, some times better some times not, the breakfast hot food would more often than not be cold, it’s not really nice eating cold fried eggs, and the barbecue restaurant was great one day and not the next so can’t explain that one really. The rooms/apartments were massive with large balconies and had mini kitchen facilities with even a dishwasher fitted so I wonder if at some point these were self catering at some point?. Entertainment was reasonable, some better than others but all in all it was an enjoyable holiday and I wouldn’t worry about negative reviews only thing I’m keeping an eye on they seem to have charged my account for the beach towels when we returned the required tokens so will be watching to see if that is refunded !!.

No, it’s mostly hotels in the immediate area. A few restaurants and a small supermarket available. A bus/taxi/Uber required to Albufeira. You can walk to Vale de Parra but it’s not a Town. Checkout Google Maps.
