Good service, fabulous food and a wonderful location next to the river in Haydon Bridge !! Well worth a visit. Will definitely go back. Dont let the works outside the pub put you off going in, as you will miss a treat!!,

I had never been to Haydon Bridge before and was visiting as part of completing the family tree. The Anchor Hotel is located on the side of a river and is easy to locate from the road. The car parking was good although part of it was flooded due to the previous days rain. The receptionist was a very nice... More

The Anchor is an inn right at the heart of Haydon Bridge, and it truly captures the flavour and atmosphere the discerning traveller would wish to find from a country pub in Northumberland. Situated next to the river South Tyne and right beside the old bridge, The Anchor is easy to find and reach by bus and train, and has... More

Stayed a night Parking on site. Directions to where I needed to be were very misleading. Not hotels fault. Great room, very comfy bed. Pneumatic drill outside window, not hotels fault. Bed and bedding were crisp and VV comfy. Lovely toiletries. Kettle, tea, coffee and a good amount of milk! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Room and look of room really nice, carpet clean,... More

We had a difficult weekend in Haydon Bridge because our children were not well. We booked into this hotel-in-a-pub so that we could go to a wedding. On the first night we noticed a 'dip' in the bed. It was not a major issue and because our son was not right we did not concern ourselves with it. The next... More

Four of us stayed here for a two night break. The hotel was much larger than we expected, with plenty of space for a relaxing drink. After we got over the language barrier, I kid you not, South meets North man, we did ok. Ideally situated next to the bridge, with lovely views over the river. We enjoyed dinner each... More

We stayed next to the Anchor last year but didn't visit because it looked tatty. This year we were told that it had been refurbished and that the food was great anyway. We gave it a try and it was correct on both counts. However the next night our chips got forgotten. How can you have fish and chips without... More
