I love the artistic touches and simplicity of this hotel. From the beautiful light fragrance when I entered the room for the first time to the little plunge pool, which was a blessing since the weather was hot. All rooms also have an umbrella, which is important, as the rooms are separated from the main building where the restaurant is housed.

The hotel is small, which makes it feel quite intimate, and you get to know the staff who work there. All the staff were really helpful and friendly even with my limited French, which I appreciated.

One thing I found surprising is that there was no soap by the bathroom sink in the room (just lotion).

There is also no lunch service, but that allows you to explore other places to eat. There were a few times when the wait staff could keep an eye on the table to remove used items or fill your water glass, especially since it wasn't very busy when I was there.

But you will enjoy the meals at the restaurant. The food and drinks were always beautifully presented and delicious.

Finally you can also take a short walk to the beach and the little town where there are other restaurants lining the street.

Martinique was easy to get around with a rental car and GPS. The whole experience was fabulous and rejuvenating.

Positives,
Lovely boutique hotel with excellent staff, especially Stephanie. Breakfast was pre ordered the day before to save waste and it was freshly cooked and presented so beautifully. Rooms large with a balcony and separate garden with a plunge pool.
Negatives
Pool is in shade most of the day and water is cold, there are also no facilities for a drink around the pool as these are not available until the restaurant opens in the evening.
Also they over booked and the evening before we left the UK, we were called to say they’d over booked and we had to stay elsewhere in the first night, something they had prearranged for us including an upgrade at the different hotel. Not that we could make use of the facilities as we were packing up to move to the French Coco.

We felt so comfortable here! You don't want to leave. Make sure you get a suite with a small plunge pool. Wonderfully refreshing. And ours had a lovely view of a palm garden. We could watch the hummingbirds feeding from the pool. The staff at French Coco - perfect! Young, charming, good-looking... the kind of staff you don't find in the catering and hotel industry in Germany anymore. The kitchen also does an excellent job. It starts with breakfast - you definitely eat with your eyes. Everything is beautifully arranged, the super tasty Coco yogurt is a poem - you should definitely order it!

We only treated ourselves to the multi-course dinner for 84 EUR per person once, which was a bit too much for our budget. Also because the wine only starts at a proud 42 EUR per bottle, you can get by better in town.

The housekeeping is also sensational - they clean thoroughly and have perfect timing. Whenever we came back from the wonderful breakfast, our suite was already ready! Simply an oasis of well-being all around - the French Coco, which you should definitely drive to with a rental car, as it is quite a distance from the airport.

Magic decor and neat decoration. But on the meal side... we chose a bottle of wine in the 40-50€, but the waiter tells us that there is an error on the menu, this wine is not available. He then offers us 2 more but... not at all at the same price, which the server does not specify at all. My husband knows wines well and knew what to expect. But after all if the meal is good, a good wine is very good too. Unfortunately, the meal was absolutely not up to the standard of this wine (at 80€ per bottle) , first of all a perfect egg that was not perfect because it was much overcooked. Bread requested twice before finally being served. A decent main course but honestly, my husband does better without any special training. And tasteless truffle yams (at least not to our taste). In short, very high prices for dishes without any gastronomic research. It’s simply to flee

2 weeks dream in this tropical garden crossed by wooden walkways.
Our room (Caribbean n° 32) was very comfortable with only the sound of birds singing, not to mention the perfect mini-pool to relax after each day of visiting the island.
The dishes of the restaurant's menu are perfectly realized, as well as the suggestions that were proposed to us to complete it given the length of our stay. Not to mention the cocktails personalized by a master in the field.
Breakfast is also very complete (hot rolls with butter 1/2 salt, personalized fruit salad...) and served at the table.
But what really makes the difference is the always smiling, considerate staff, who have been very caring for us every moment, whether they come from Toulouse, Chile (they will recognize each other. We kiss you!) or for that matter, at breakfast, in the evening at dinner, at reception or even for the maintenance of the pool. We won't forget you. Thank you so much.

Wonderful stay in this small hotel located in a quiet area. We had half board and the meals were all delicious. The chef prepared a special meat-free dish for me every evening! Breakfasts must be ordered in advance to avoid waste but you will not miss anything and they are of high quality, especially the fresh fruit. The staff is very attentive. I was sick one evening and they kindly set up our dinner in the room. Our room had a small swimming pool called a punch tank which was enough to cool off. Our terrace was not overlooked except on the nature of the hotel garden. The nearby beaches are quite charming and if you rent a car to visit this beautiful island your stay will certainly be wonderful! We have excellent memories of our week at French Coco where everything was done to make us feel good. THANKS !

Hotel French Coco. Very nice hotel.
Everything was perfect from the warm welcome (with planter) to departure. Comfortable room.
Restaurant: excellent (service and menus).
Very friendly bartender, and good advice on choosing rum.
Please note: it is best to reserve the restaurant on the evening of arrival as it is often full on weekends.

We stayed only one night at Hotel French Coco, but it was our best night on the island. When we arrived we immediately got a beautiful drink and a warm welcome. The place has a sense of peace created by the lush garden, wooden structures and friendly staff.
We loved our suite with a lovely shower facing a small private garden and a nice terrace with a view over the garden. We had dinner at the hotel and the food and wine was amazing.

This place is almost hidden away and we were delighted when we entered the grounds ! Simply gorgeous . Reception is via a video entrance door! Initially I was concerned about parking space but we were soon directed to a large secure car park which was next to our rooms! Our rooms were simply stunning ! I need not say any more as others have said the same. The staff were just so helpful . There was as pre order process for breakfast. The order form had everything we needed and when it came to the quality and presentation of breakfast , it was simply outstanding . We didn’t eat a meal at the hotel as we had ate at lunchtimes! We did a fantastic circular coastal walk which starts about 10 mins form hotel! Just ask the reception staff about the walk via the lighthouse ! You can choose from 3 routes ! We took the middle route! Best coastal walk we have ever done! Route is well signposted ! Take plenty of water! We did take water but not enough ! When we finished there is a lady selling drinks from a van! Think she did ice cream too! Perfect position .

The closest beach is just a few hundred yards down the road. However if you walk another 10 mins to the right ! Footpath through woods ! There is s as better beach without rocky coral if you want a swim ! Also a great little beach bar Cocos , not related to hotel but pretty good and very very busy! Book a table if you want to eat

Is there a store near the hotel where we can buy some drinks and snacks for in the room?
Answer from Seyleen M

When you arrived in Tartane you can find on the right side a small store ( in a gas station) where you can buy some drinks and snacks it’s about 10 min drive to the hotel ! But it’s the only one store ! You can find some local products near the sea side ( ice cream, churros, fruits, pizza) but it’s depend of the time and the day. But if you need anything in the room you have a mini bar, and you can request special thing if you need with the lovely staff. They are very friendly and pro.

Hello William D, We are situated in the town of Trinité, but you have the direction of Tartane ( a little township of Trinité), about 40 mn from the Aimée Césaire Airport. There is a beach in a within walking distance: 300m from the hotel. You can book a private transfer: one way 90,00€ for 1 to 3 persons. Our 10 m on 3,20 m swimming pool is good for children but our nice hotel is suitable for couples. Waiting for welcome you...
