#2 of 3 in Kilmelford
On the West Coast of Scotland, just 16 miles south of Oban, the Gate way to the Isle, is Melfort. Melfort Pier & Harbour is right on the shore of one of the most beautiful sea Loch's in Scotland, where the Highlands come down to the sea.............We have 10 Scandanavian houses, all with a different lay out. Some all on one level. Other ones up stairs. Every house has a superb view of the Loch. Our main asset is our unique location, protected on the seaward side by uninhabited islands and sheltered by the hills of the Melfort wood to the North. Our high quality, self contained houses, surround our private harbour. When you are here, we provide you with privacy and the freedom and flexibility to do what every you like. We have 6 houses for the less mobile. 2 Pets per house are very welcome

Melfort Pier is a hidden gem. Located right on the Loch side with spectacular views from every window. From the moment you arrive and are warmly greeted by Hazel and Fruin you can feel the special energy of the resort. Hazel could not be more helpful and was a fountain of knowledge in all things local and recommendations of places to eat. On entering admiral deck the view from the top of the stairs is breathtaking and it just keeps getting better. The apartment is huge, spotlessly clean and so well equipped. The underfloor heating means it’s cosy and warm and it’s a delight to sit inside or outside and take in the views. The only negative was we had only booked two nights it wasn’t long enough we will be back for longer next time. Thank you so much Hazel and the staff at Melfort for a perfect stay.

I have nothing but praise for Melfort Pier and Harbour. We have been previously and Hazel remembered me from an email address which made us feel super special and welcomed! We also had to change dates due to Unforeseen circumstances and Hazel could not have been more accommodating, kind and understanding for us and was able to give us new dates which suited us better. We stayed in Boathouse East which was just beautiful. The views from the house are wonderful. We got an amazing sunset on our last night and our friends got engaged on the pier. It couldn’t have been more perfect. The accommodation is everything you could want. Clean, cosy and has all the kitchen utensils! The fireplace is amazing and absolutely worth getting the wood in for. We had it on every night and the dogs loved it! Hazel is one of Melforts best assets! She has always been so lovely with each of the trips we’ve taken here. Absolutely loves our dogs and is truly so kind. We cannot wait to return and we will be back this year 🥰

I would highly recommend this place for a relaxing couple/family break. We have been on a number of occasions and keep coming back. Beautiful scenery. I love sitting in the garden looking out at the water and hills, so peaceful. Every house is fully equipped - washing machine, dishwasher etc and most houses are suitable for anyone with disabilities I.e. all on one level and accessible shower and toilet for wheelchair users. All the houses have a sauna which is welcome after a long walk. The staff are wonderful and can’t do enough for you. We will definitely be back.

We have been several times since 2014 to Melfort pier and Harbour always staying in our favourite Bridge Deck with its glorious views over Loch Melfort and the hills beyond (autumnal colours are spectacular) however this visit was a very short notice 2 day stay to celebrate my sister in laws birthday so we needed a 2 bedroom and were more than delighted with the spacious, well equipped Anchorage and it's equally good views down the loch. Love the sauna and log burner for relaxing. Everything you need is provided in the lodges. Hazel, as always , is a credit to the resort always helpful and friendly and willing to chat and her wee dog Fruin made great friends with our Dachshund Haggis too. The peace, tranquility is very relaxing its just a great resort to let time slip by. We have booked our return visit for next year already.

Fabulous stay with our 3 children in the Captains Quarters. The location is stunning, great views, definitely the place to come to unwind for a few days. We swam and paddleboarded and walked up to the peak for stunning views (6km there and back). The accommodation is generally of good standard, well equipped, probably a little dated but clean and functional. My only issue was the uncomfortable bed which meant I didn't sleep too well but the rest more than made up for it. Thanks for a great stay!
