At check in, the person who gave me my key continued a cell phone conversation throughout. At times I was unsure whether he was speaking to me or whoever was on the phone. The facility is in desperate need of renovation. Everything, furniture, walls, carpet, is very worn. At one stage there was a very strong smell of weed around the entrance to the hotel - I was with my two kids (11 & 6) and didn't appreciate that. Plus side - although worn, seemed clean. Was very quiet, beds comfortable. Great location for Mount Orford and just a short drive to downtown Magog.
We stopped in for one night in between summer camps and were really happy with the experience. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy - there haven't been upgrades since the 1970's I'm sure, but if you're looking for cleanliness and convenience over fancy, this is a great spot. No breakfast included, but there is fresh coffee in the foyer. The pool was also clean and very pretty for a nightitme swim.
Place was ok, considering the price we paid (a lot lower than most around). Close to the village, national park and highway. Pool looked creepy but we werent there for that anyway. Room was definitely a flash from the 70's but clean.
We Just got back from 2 nights at this place. You can’t get a better location if you are going skiing at Orford. The room was a good size with a fridge and a microwave. We asked for a ground floor room and had a door to the outside which was very convenient. The motel also allowed pets. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean. Some improvements could be made to the upkeep of the building but I think they are in the process of doing so. Only other complaint was the floor was like a click flooring and our wet footwear created puddles at the door. We would stay here again if we went back to Orford, got the room for a good rate at New Years, for a 2 star property we were pleasantly surprised.
Ok for a one night stop, nothing more. The wi-fi doesnt work in the room, you have to go in the lobby. Hot water in the shower takes about 5 minutes to heat up. At least the hotel was quiet. Cons: wifi doesnt work, hot water takes time to heat up, average service. Pros: 2 beds, heated room (lol!)
