Lacking TLC, this hotel looks superb from the outside but in need of a good clean and tidy up inside. Peeling paintwork, lightbulbs not all working, rooms very hot, door didn't lock on one of our rooms. We were disappointed as wrong room type given resulting in us staying at different ends of the hotel. Staff need refreshing on attention...

Stayed here for one night and having done so would have loved to stay longer. The room was beautiful and immaculate. The staff were welcoming and couldn't do enough for us; a standard of service rarely found. We dined in the restaurant and, although the menu was small, the food was of a very high standard. I will definitely be...

From the moment we checked in we had problems. Despite paying for a superior room, we were allocated a pretty average, at best, room. We were shown two other rooms once I complained but neither were exactly luxurious. Dinner was mediocre at best. Not a luxury experience. Staff on desk somewhat vague. Overall disappointed and won't be back. Phone signal...

Stayed the night of March 18 after a wedding. Venue beautiful and the weather almost cooperated. The staff was so helpful- we couldn't figure out how to work the lights and they couldn't have been nicer in not laughing at how inept we were. Food was great and the grounds beautiful.

Booked through 5pm and got deal with dinner and breakfast included. It had a long impressive driveway to it and looked the part. We were booked into a twin room but managed to switch into a family room which was good. The hotel was nice and room spacious. Had water and a fridge which was really good. The dinner was...

the castle makes for a great photo, and the entrance hall with grand staircase lives up to this splendour; we were there on a very quiet night so were given a large room with the bed up on a mezzanine level above the private bathroom -- all despite being there on a bargain voucher! ...the food was pretty good and...

The hotel was fairly quiet when we arrived (it was early February) so we asked if it would be possible to upgrade our room...the standard room was lovely and beautifully presented, but not particularly large...and the very friendly staff kindly offered us a luxury room upstairs that was absolutely fantastic...a real treat. We had dinner in the restaurant on both...

We stayed in the Melville Castle Hotel for a couple of nights and had a very nice time. The room was spacious and clean, and the carpet looked brand new. The bed was on a mezzanine level and created a nice space. Plumbing in our room has some foibles, and made some bagpipe noises, but you are in Scotland so...

We only stayed for one night but wish it could have been more. The surroundings are lovely. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. We had our evening meal in the Bistro Restaurant which is in the old wine cellar. My only slight criticism would be that the menu was very limited, but having said that, we still managed...
