As I first went into this not very welcoming pub, with rooms, I was only to ready to call it. It is tired, dark and needs a full refurb BUT then I realised what I was paying and why I was there. I was only paying £40 for a double room and there to attend a function very close by.... More

the pub menu states all food is freshly cooked so it may take a while to serve, this is not true for the fish and chips, the chips are not hand cut and the fish was soggy as it had been mocrowaved,I hope the other food is better but I will never know as we wont be eating there again.

First I would like to say I hate complaining but if you don't how will they begin to fix it We stayed one night on a Saturday, we were shown to the room, and the heating in this room was not working, it smelt damp and so did all our clothes when we left. An electric heater given to us... More

I stayed here for two nights last month and could not have asked for anything better. Staff were polite and friendly. Management were great, nothing was too much to ask for. Rooms were clean and spacious, Free WIFI, coffee and tea and a fresh bottle of water daily. We ate both breakfast and tea at the pub and the food... More

Stayed while visiting family. Room was clean, staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good with a full choice range. Had an evening meal also which was lovely and excellent value, only down side was that a drink was a little expensive. Almost didn't stay here due to some of the reviews but very glad we did and were informed... More

Warm welcome after 20 miles on foot, didn't get to eat there as we were a little late, they had promised food no matter what time we arrived, but it didn't really matter as we were keen to explore the high street. The main thing, after a long walk and with it being so cold, was warm rooms and a... More

Stayed here for the last 3 nights (Thursday-Sunday) including 2 disco nights! And was pleasantly surprised I stayed right above the dance floor and with the television on you could barely hear the music, every day we were given new towels, beds made and replenished refreshments, could not recommend them higher enough, everything with the room was great and more... Booked this hotel to stay at for a wedding in the local area. Arriving at the hotel the first impression was that it needed a good clean, once checked in the experience did not get any better on being shown to the room the best lights did not work and the smell of smoke in the accommodation is over powering.... I stayed here with my daughter whilst having my house renovated. The landlords were amazing polite and funny, cleaners could not do enough for you and the room was spotless. Yes the room was abit outdated but I do believe that each room is being redecorated. Weekend can be noisy as there is a disco on till early hours but... More
