We went with one of our friends for a special offer dinner bed and breakfast overnight break. The rooms were well appointed, immaculately clean and very comfortable. The bar is lovely, perfect for pre dinner and after dinner drinks and the meal in the main restaurant was top drawer. - great scallops for starters followed by turbot for main courses, all beautifully...

Dear Jacksville007, Thank you for your review on your recent stay with us. We source all of our food produce, including a large range of the beers and drinks behind the bar, locally which certainly aids in the deliciousness of it all! I am sorry on this occasion breakfast was not as expected, this is certainly something I will alert...

Have visited Yorkshire too many times to remember but have never been to Malton. We booked three days at the Talbot B/B and evening meal in the brasserie before seeing it as a competition on The Yorkshire Vet. We travelled with our dog Murphy and it was £10 per night for him but he did get a rug to lie...

Dear HONESTY573, Thank you for your review - and how wonderful you spotted us on the Yorkshire Vet. It was lovely to meet you both, and Murphy - what a lovely dog, the staff certainly enjoyed seeing him around the hotel! We are very lucky in that all of the staff at the hotel strive to offer each guest the...

Stayed here on business and really enjoyed it. Lovely hotel and room - the reception and bar staff are really friendly and helpful. Did not eat an evening meal but breakfast food and service was excellent. Would definitely recommend.

Disappointed with our stay so far. Arrived with a mediocre welcome to the hotel, our room which we have paid premium rates for, is very noisy with traffic constant & noisy guests. When asked if we could change rooms I was questioned whether we had requested a 'non traffic' room. Had we of known the hotel was by a main...

Dear Selma R, Thank you for your review. I am sorry on this occasion you were left disappointed with the room in which you had been allocated. As I am aware you did have a conversation with the receptionist regarding your room issue, as she came and discussed the matter with me immediately, however being fully booked and the only...

We decided to spoil ourselves a little and go the full whack and fork out for the £250 per night option. At first I was a little apprehensive about paying this much and honestly didn't get my hopes up for it but I have never been this happy to admit it when I'm wrong. The view as we pulled up...

Aside from the traditional building being something of a maze it is otherwise hard to fault. Staff and service were excellent, the food exceptional (other than a slight delay in service) and facilities all top notch.

We had a lovely stay at the Talbot. Our room was spacious and comfortable and I loved the large shower with its huge shower head. Breakfasts were delicious - I had the poached egg and avocado on toast one morning. We ate dinner in the restaurant - their menu is very inventive and the dishes were well presented and tasted...

This is the second time I've visited The Talbot for work and just like the first time, I was not disappointed. I stayed in the Watson and the room was lovely and large, with a shower and freestanding bath which was a very nice touch. The bed was massive and the decor was very in-keeping with the overall feel the...

I stayed Monday 8th October at the hotel. From the reservation onwards I have nothing but praise for all the staff. It was clear you were all rightly proud of the splendid hotel and from a road weary travellers perspective it really does make a difference that you all go that extra mile for your clientele which sets you apart...
