I was very impressed with the fish menu they had on for good Friday this ran along side the main menu and specials board. The Moorcock seems to be the only pub that changes its specials menu on a regular basis, so if you go and see something you like try it as you may be disappointed next time. You...

Called in for the first time in many along year. Greeted warmly and swiftly at the bar. As we were looking for a light bite ahead of later dinner we chose from the short list of starters and were delighted with our selection. Pub was well patronised by larger parties and from what we could see, they were unlikely to...

Lovely Sunday lunch and lovely homemade Yorkshire puddings. Lovely to find some where we can go after work (6clk ish ) and get a great Sunday lunch. Always get a warm welcome.. We've had food off menu midweek and found this to be very nice. Well worth a visit.

Food was very good home cooked and local produce. Not to much to choose from but that is not a bad thing if they change the menu from time to time. We could not fault the food or service. I would definitely recommend. We will return.

We ate at a few places around this area and found the warmest of welcomes here. Really good home cooked food and excellent value plus biscuits for the dogs! We were impressed. It seems a lot of pubs are trying to go upmarket however we found that this meant a limited menu, small portions and high prices. This place however...

We were here for the sheep racing day, the service has something to be desired not sure if this was due to the amount of people there as we have not been any other time. Took five minutes to get an answer as to what lager they served in the end a helpful local at the bar helped me out...

Was easy to find and in nice country location . It must be popular as some things on the menu had ran out. Nice welcome by staff who were very pleasant.the food was nicely cooked and served hot and quickly and was nicely presented on the plate. The steak would have been better served with a sauce or an option to...

This pub has just recently changed hands, sort of - the owners are now running it themselves. Being local we'd tried it before for Sunday lunch which had been ok but a bit bland. It's now superb with generous portions, a great big proper Yorkshire pud and properly cooked veg. Staff and waitresses are very friendly & polite and I...
