Stayed here on our journey down to gonarezhou. We were warmly welcomed on arrival.
Stayed in the cottage as we were a family of 3. There was a large spider up in childs room, however you are in Africa and it is hard to control...More
Very nice place, beautiful gardens, roaring fire and clean rooms. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They were able to organise for me to get a lift to the Chimanimani national and give me good info about the buses. Would definitely stay again.
Heaven's lodge is a stunning place. I met beautiful people there. The owner has about 4 to 5 dogs and my daughter loved playing with the dogs. The Chef was friendly and we chat a lot. We roasted maize in the evenings and one afternoon...More
We stayed in Heaven Lodge for two nights and it does it's name right! The place is truly amazing and so is the staff, Eddy in special. If you need a tour guide to explore the beautiful mountains surrounding you ask the staff to contact...More
Chimanimani was not the vibrant tourist magnet we had anticipated before arrival. On the contrary, it's a pretty sleepy, shabby little village waiting (probably indefinitely) for the bulk of visitors to return. Heaven Lodge is a 5-minute walk from the village, and faces the spectacular mountain range. The extensive campsite offers plenty of well-kept lawns and shady spots for camping, with a braai area, a wood-fired ...Morestove and outdoor washup sink for campers. The Lodge is a favourite of the adventure overland trucks. Under-cover accommodation includes serviced double rooms and a double-bunk dorm for small groups. Fresh linen is supplied (but not towels). Solar heating units supply hot water to the bathroom and four shower/toilet suites. There is a separate, en-suite cottage at the edge of the woods, and overflow accommodation is available in basic bed-only wooden huts. A perennial stream borders the lush 8-acre property, which is a haven for birds with its overgrown guava orchard and tall indigenous trees. The tranquil atmosphere encourages total chlling-out. * Wi-fi is available for a modest daily fee. * Basic breakfasts can be provided with advance booking * Small bar facility in the evenings, for staying guests. * Private laundry service. Local attractions include the Bridal Veil waterfall, cultural tours, spectacular hiking, botanical marvels (in the National Park) and a friendly relaxed atmosphere. Less
