The rooms were very small and the showers and bathrooms are shared. The walls are thin and one can hear the neighbors very easily. Internet extremely slow and often unusable. The Lodge overlooks the glacier and is next to the old mine buildings. Access to nearby hiking trails is excellent. The food was excellent. The best food in our 2.5...

A little disappointed. Main house has community bathrooms, for a private bathroom you have to be in a building 300 feet away...which is a lit in the pouring rain. Room small and clean, with one tiny window that we couldn't look out of. The heavy screens blacked the view, and the window was so high up, it offered nothing in...

Best food in our 2 1/2 week trip in Alaska, surprisingly for a remote location such as the Kennecott mine. Very friendly staff + this place is very authentic, which is rare. Reminded me of lodges in the Alps. Highly recommended! (Please mind that we only had lunch there, we did not stay overnight)

I stayed in the new building with private bathrooms (the older building has shared baths). Room is large and clean, with a porch on the front of the building with great views of the glacier and valley. Hotel www prompt about picking you up from the bridge when you arrive. The available meal package is pricey, but the food is...

What a fantastic drive to Kennicott and to top it off, sleep in the Glacier Lodge! It is fantastically decored, full with character and what a views! Rooms are not very spacious, but every room has it's own theme. We really loved staying here. You should too.

The spacious rooms away from the main lodge offer beautiful views of the Wrangle Mountains. Guided hikes are available to walk on the glacier and enjoy learning about the area. The Restaurant offers wonderful food and very attentive service. The main lodge area may have older rooms, but is very quaint.

We stayed in the newest bit of the annex in a large ensuite room with a porch that had amazing glacier views. This is one of many Alaskan hotels where the bathroom basin is in the bedroom rather than in the bathroom. What's that about? Tasty meals are served family style. You're assigned a table and so get to chat...

Dear LimehouseTraveller, Thank you for your review of Kennicott Glacier Lodge. It is great to hear that you liked your large room and amazing view. Most of the rooms in the South Wing have a toilet and shower room with a vanity and sink area next to it that is separate from the bedroom. There are two handicap rooms, however,...

Friendly family run lodge in the remote historic mining 'ghost town' of Kennicott. Service and dining great and fun to sit with other visitors and exchange travel stories. Enjoy a pre- dinner drink on the terrace while gazing over the fascinating 'moonscape' created by the glacier. Lots of activities to do - including a hike up to the Root Glacier...

Love this place! The road is in much better shape then it was 4 years ago. Once you get there it is like stepping back in time. The park service does a good job of keeping up the old mine. The Lodge is very nice and serves excellent food

Dear Laura M, Thank you for sharing your thoughts about your visit to Kennicott. The State of Alaska has been working hard to improve the gravel road from Chitina to McCarthy and it now takes around 2 hours to drive the 60 mile road. We look forward to seeing you again on your 3rd trip to Kennicott! Christina Kirkwood Kennicott...
