Everything about the Kennicott Glacier Lodge is amazing. From the food to the room to the view of the glacier, this place proved to be one of the highlights of our trip to Alaska. Taking the flight here to and from Chitna was the icing on the cake.

We, 2 adults and 2 teenagers, stayed here 2 nights and 3 days in June. Wonderful lodge in a unique and beautiful setting. Enjoyed hiking out to and onto the Root Glacier and the copper mine tour is a must. Food was excellent but a bit pricey and their are no other real options so I would definitely get the...

We got the meal package and flight from Chitina because we didn't want to risk problems with driving on the McCarthy road with our rental car. Although I guess most people don't have any problem with the road these days. The rooms are not big but are comfortable and we never had any problem with the shared baths and showers....

Getting to the Kennicott Glacier Lodge is half of the experience. Located in the heart of Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, you will either fly in on a bush plane or drive the 60 mile gravel McCarthy Rd. Then you will get shuttled another 5 miles to the lodge located in the former copper mining town of Kennicott. It is an...

We had a brilliant 2 night stay here - and it is an absolute must for anyone visiting Alaska. Although the drive from the main highway is 3 hours, it is well worth it for the views & wildlife - Moose! You can fly, but not sure it's the same.... The staff at KGL are all excellent and the food...

You must plan your trip to this lodge - or maybe I shouldn't tell anyone - because it is a secret jem! I never heard of Wrangell-St Elias National Park - but it is the biggest US National Park and very hard to get there. Most people fly in - but we drove our rental car in on 60 miles...

We did not stay here, but decided to have lunch in the restaurant. The atmosphere was very nice, the scenery was beautiful and the building was rustic/ historic looking but as I understand fairly new. The entire location is incredible. If nothing else you must climb the stairs to the balcony to check out the view. The restaurant staff were...

We loved the rustic beauty of the lodge. The staff was welcoming and the breakfast was fabulous! We thoroughly enjoyed the tour of the abandoned copper mine in Kennicott. We plan to return and stay longer. The Adirondack chairs in the yard provided a wonderful place to sit, relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Even though the bathrooms must be...

We loved our 2 days at the Kennicott Lodge. We booked it together with the round-trip flight from Chitina and the full meal plan. Because of vacancy problems we stayed in the South WIng our first night in a room with a private bath and moved over the second night to the Main Lodge where we had a room with...

Although we heard that the public road to Kennicott/Kennicott Lodge had improved, our rental car company did not authorize us to drive it so we flew from Chitina to McCarthy to begin our fantastic two day visit to Wrangell-St. Elias National Park. I really enjoyed my stay at the Lodge and my visit to the National Park and I highly...
