This hotel has everything it needs to make it a "Very Good" hotel. Great staff: warm, welcoming and helpful. Large comfortable rooms and baths with good quality towels. The rooms are neat and clean with good attention by the housekeeping staff. Why did I rate it only good? Our room had at least 3 cosmetic flaws that more attention to detail could have solved (for instance our towel rack was recently replaced - but the holes from the previous one were not properly repaired.) The pillows were very good, but the mattress while not uncomfortable has become too soft. and finally the toilet paper was a lower quality than I would expect from this level of hotel. Upgrades and repairs were going on, had they not gotten to our floor? This hotel has everything is needs for the quality of…
Went to check into the hotel...once they knew we were English speaking and not French..it all went downhill...sat there in the lobby for 1 1/2 hrs while they checked every person in (all French) before us. They told us check in was at 3 pm but that only applied to us...literally checked in everybody but us..rude and when I asked the young man at the desk if it was their policy to check only French people in first he said yes...treated like second class citizens...disgusting service...will never recommend or stay here again.
Very very disappointed with the poor customer service and what seems to be dishonesty by some of the staff of this hotel. My wife, baby and I stayed at this hotel from July 20 to 22. When we arrived home on the 22nd, we realized that my wife had forgotten her purse and her work computer in the nightstand. We immediately called and asked whether the cleaning staff had found them and asked that they call us back ASAP explaining how important the laptop in particular was for us. They never did. We had to call them back ourselves later that evening and they promised to give us news as soon as the staff member appointed to our room would come into work the next day. Next day: radio silence and again we had to call multiple times only to get poor excuses on why they didn’t know…
I stayed for one night. It was very expensive. The hotel is very old and dated. The curtains don’t even fit the windows. They didn’t cover them. The hotel bar was closed by 10am! The elevator was not working well. I would stay there again because it was clean but only at half the price!
I was very pleased with where it’s located(near the water, nice view, close to everything you would need when on vacation). The breakfast is included in the price, it was good. But..i paid almost 200$ for a room, so i expected it to be real nice but it was just ok, the hallways look terrible and disgusting, especially the walls. The wallpaper is peeling off everywhere. It doesn’t get a really good impression on what the room will be like...it should all be renovated...let’s just say, if you think your gonna get a really nice luxurious room as seen on the sites, your gonna be veeeery disappointed...i can rent a room for way less in a much better hotel like holiday inn!
My sister booked the room thru Expedia, what a surprise for the price of the room was 137$ at the hotel with Expedia it was 202$. Travelers be careful when booking with Expedia. The service was excellent. The elevator was a bit on the slow side. The room was very clean. The bathroom is in need of TLC. We did enjoy our trip to area.
At first didn't know if we were at the right Hotel Plaza- sign says simply Hotel, slow realization we had arrived and were met with very friendly staff although slow to register due to a long forgotten custom;; pay a deposit for room damage before staying. if using cash payments ( bank) a hundred dollars per person if using a credit card 50 dollars per person. The elevator floor indication was not working and the second day one elevator was out of service took a long time to get out..if booking the lobby floor starts on the 2nd floor stay on the 3rd floor only one flight of stairs... Had the free breakfast at Mimosas ; everything was good;; but the toaster very slow held up the traffic and you ate cold , if you didn't toast.. …
Hotel was not up to my expectations. Front staff were pleasant. The elevator was extremely slow with a wait that could be over 3 mins (i wish i was exaggerating but timed it). The room had peeling wallpaper. Room cleaning was very slow, not getting to the room until after 3:30. Perhaps the worst part was the smell in room 509. It was a chemical smell. Informed front staff so hopefully it is taken care of before someone else stays in the room.
Had to work locally and slept there for a night and thank god. This is a 2 stars property. Ain’t great. Reception is ok. Just felt lame overall. Bed not super comfy. BUT there are no other options close by
Again in Valleyfield and frankly it’s the best in town. Clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. I will stay again and again, the place needs a bit of TLC but it is comfortable in the rooms and it is clean . The breakfast included is a bonus.
