This was our second stay at the Plaza in Valleyfield having also visited in the summer of 2016. The hotel is in a lovely location opposite the marina and along side a river where white water canoeing is popular. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself could definitely use some updating but was very clean. There are two elevators but during our stay one was out of order which led to some lengthy waits. On our first evening, having dined in the hotel restaurant, we discovered a busload of tired looking Asian tourists waiting for the one operational elevator. Rather than a lengthy wait we stood the stairs...not a pleasant experience! Our room (#407) was located next to the elevators and there was constant noise. This noise was accompanied by the…
We (3 adults) stayed one night at the Plaza Valleyfield. We were late arrivals however our reception was cheerful and efficient. We were just in time to have a nightcap at the bar, a warm, homey environment where it would be easy to spend more time, and again were met with very friendly, efficient service. Our room was spacious, secure and very clean. The beds were comfortable. Our breakfast, included in the price, offered sufficient choice (scrambled eggs, sausages, cereals, juice, coffee etc.). And a newspaper. We would recommend the Valleyfield based on our one night stay and would look to return for a longer stay.
This is a nice hotel it shows wear in the room but it's clean and well set up government prices 95$$. Better than 112$ days in on Brockville Bathroom is clean some cracked tiles but clean.restaurant downstairs service desk was helpful
The hotel is in a great location. We went walking every day by the water. Tim Hortons is right beside the hotel, McDonald's is one block down, and a grocery store is about one block as well. The beds were very comfortable and it was very clean. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. We wanted to stay an extra night but they were booked up. They called as soon as they had a cancellation so we were able to stay longer. :) The only complaints were that their elevator was super slow...one wasn't working. And there wasn't a fan in the bathroom and the window didn't open. With 4 of us in one room, it would have been nice to have some fresh air. But we would stay again for sure!
If you don't find any thing near Montreal downtown this is your backup. It's just ok. I found rooms pretty ok but Hall way and other area was not well kept. Trust me u can find better in this price. breakfast was also average. Like nothing special. Rooms, sheets and washrooms were just so clean. Even staff was extremely curtious and helpful.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful and this would have been a great hotel...about 30 years ago! While clean, this hotel is in desperate need of renovations and updates. Wifi was very slow. Peeling wallpaper, dirty carpets.
At a short distance from Montreal airport, this hotel is a perfect solution for the jetlag affected traveler. Friendly reception, great comfortable room, and an in-house restaurant with delicious food.
The staff at the front desk were pleasant and very polite. Checking in was quick and effortless. For the price, I honestly expected much better. The elevators were a mess (not clean and damaged interior) on the sixth floor the wallpaper was peeling in several places. Once inside the room (601), there were several large stains (light and very dark) all over the carpet. Not sure what they were but they didn't seem clean. Wires of some desk lamps were frayed and almost exposed as if a small animal had chewed through them. The bed was comfortable. Unfortunately, for the price vs quality, I should have driven to Vaudreuil. We stayed at this hotel due to it being close to the hospital.
While the hotel is clean, recently renovated and with friendly staff, I specifically chose this hotel (and paid a premium in my opinion) so that my two boys could play in the pool before continuing our trip to Quebec city. I was stunned to find out that the pool was closed on July 1st because of the holiday. Also - if you stay here - avoid room 407: the refridgerator ran all night and is plugged into a crackling power bar (which I finally ended up shutting off at 5am) only to be awoken by people (staff) moving tables on the floor without lifting them at 5.30am. They finally stopped at 6.30am. The fan in the bathroom also needs servicing. I would like to say that I would give the hotel another shot but at the rate of $185 per night...
Perfect location! Decent Hotel but could use a little maintenance. Very poor lighting in the rooms but nice rooms, clean and good service. A little pricey for the value but we are happy we stayed here. Dooley's Billiards was a riot. Very friendly people in Valleyfield and Ormstown. No French / English problems, just great people!
