This hotel felt like literally being situated in the middle of nowhere. Having driven up the A897 for what seemed like an eternity - intentionally I might add, stopping many times along the way to take in the scenery and wildlife - this seemed like the perfect / only place to have a break and cup of tea. Despite only...

My wife and I stayed for a few days at the Forsinard Hotel in June 2012. We enjoyed a lovely few days in this most remote part of the Highlands. John and his wife are very good hosts making ones stay most enjoyable, they run a lovely relaxed hotel with a well set up bar. The suppers are excellent and...

It was our second visit to the Forsinard Hotel and we were not dissappointed. A very warm welcome, great food (the breakfasts, steaks and seafood are excellent!!) and lots of advice on what to do in the local area. As keen fishermen we ventured out into the wilds of the highlands for a few days on their beautiful lochs. And we...

A Very Friendly Hotel in an amazing location. Good bar with darts, pool, etc. Been here twice and ever been disappointed: 5 Star Service, 5 Star Location, 5 Star Food (looks to bar standard, but it's all fresh meat from the surrounding area so tastes amazing), 3 Star Rooms (good 3 star in that) Definitely Reccomend

Hotel is geared up for the hunting, shooting fishing crowd but they were very helpful to me as a walker/mountain biker helping me find out which areas were free of Stalking the next day. Prices are really aimed at the stalker so aren't fantastic value compared to other options in Caithness/Sutherland but the location is second to none and there...

A fantastic hotel. Guests are almost all there to fish or stalk or walk and build up a very nice rapport. Hosts are fantastic. The food is straight off the hills and is outstanding value - some of the best steak and venison you will find anywhere in the world. Presentation may be "bar food" but there are Michelin restaurants...

I have visited The Forsinard Hotel numerous times over the years and have always found it the most welcoming place to stay. The owners Kim and John Leonard simply cannot do enough for you. My room in the hotel is always clean and tidy, there is an en-suite bathroom and fresh towels are provided. I have eaten both from the...

Having been to this hotel before, with my children who are now teenagers I thought I would treat my Mum and her sister. Wow what a reception - Mum was bowled over by the owners thoughtfulness and attention to detail. The food was to die for, Venison with a providence - not the bits your butcher sells you! The company...

On having stayed all over the world fishing and shooting it came to be a bit of a shock to me to find one of the best shooting and fishing resorts in Scotland. I sore an advert for the Forsinard in a field sports magazine and gave them a call. I was pleasantly greeted on the phone by the owner...
