We are a group of 'old' colleagues who meet here annually. This year it was clear some economies had been made, alongside some extensions to the size of the restaurant. The family room had no welcoming prosecco, only three teabags, cheaper spa slippers. The spa weekend break is not cheap and these minor irritations felt like a step in the wrong...

Stayed overnight on Thursday with a voucher given to us by a friend who has joined the Leisure Club. We have stayed in many hotels in this area as our son lives 2 miles from Fairlawns. By far the best experience and can't understand how we have missed it previously. Upgraded to a Junior Suite which was a nice surprise....

Had a nice overnight stay and spa day here with my daughter. Excellent reception when booking in and the room was spacious clean and all you needed. The evening meal was really nice and excellent service, but we did upgrade to the full breakfast and that was a waste of £17. The mushrooms were rubbery, the eggs fried in too...

Visited fairlawns last weekend, what a great find! Can't fault this lovely family run hotel. The customer service was fantastic, they all are so pleasant and very helpful and generally seem very happy working there. The food in the restaurant was amazing, smallish portions but very well cooked and presented. My treatment was excellent, a shout out to Clare, very professional...

Weekend stay at the Fairlawns. Food is normally to a very high standard. However, the standard of food in the restaurant on our last visit was the best ever, and to the very highest standard. In particular, the evening meal. We had a duck parfait with brioche for starter, which was particularly exquisite, followed by braised beef in a delicious...

Visited this hotel for my 30th birthday and what a fantastic experience from start to finish!! We stayed in the junior suite and I would recommend this room to anybody, big double bath in the living room with great star effect lighting, then upstairs to the bedroom which was really appealing and the en suite had a shower and his...

Rooms a bit basic & small but the suites are great. Booked for 3 couples. Spa was open late & included in the price. Enjoyed the pool, steam room, everything. Great spa, but basic rooms & value for money, if you use the spa

we have stayed at this hotel many times over the last few years for some peace and grown up time! We return several times a year (as often as we can) as it really is delightful. The rooms are lovely, modern and stylish. The spa is tranquil. The food is exquisite and the staff are just wonderful. Nothing is too...

All the staff throughout the hotel have been marvellous- very polite without being pompous, really friendly and can have a laugh. If you want a special weekend this is the place to be! From reception to bar and restaurant staff to spa I...
