Outstanding service in a property that is well kept . This is something I did not expect. For the price of the room I had expected it to be another half good/ half bad experience. To my surprise, we found a caring service team, a property that is surprisingly well set and food and beverages that are on par with any five star resort. Upon arrival, the impression is one of a set up that is more on par with your Caribbean resort than anything I have seen in Ecuador. Check-in was quick, though my impression was that front desk staff was not very knowledgeable about activities outside of the resort. The room was well appointed, sufficiently stocked and well maintained. Everything worked. No airco, but this is probably more of a management decision than a lack of interest in a positive guest experience. We then strolled around, and found a couple of pools, one of which was large and had a water slide. Ideal for kids, really. There are pathways around the property, leading to different areas such as an auditorium, a very nice Spa and even an observation tower that in theory allows to see far and wide. We dined at what appeared to be the only restaurant, aside from a pool side food and beverage outdoor type of location. Food and beverages were excellent. Service was not loud but quick and silent. As it should be. Check-out was easy. We loved it, and will if time allows it, visit in the future. Though this appears to be a property for families, couples appear to be welcomed as well. The place is large enough for you to be away from it all while enjoying the jungle theme. I highly recommend it. Management is always present, checking things and service. But there is no sign of the service drama you often find in resort type properties. Hope this helps.

This place is truly surrounded by the most beautiful jungle nature! So relaxing, beautiful pools and many things to do! The staff went above and beyond to take care of us and the food was delicious! I travel a lot and have to say this has become one of my most memorable experiences in traveling! A gem in the jungle!

Simply fantastic. I have visited this area since 1995 and now finally there is a luxury resort that respects nature and blends perfectly with it. Kids had a great time as there was even a movie theater. Food is 5 star. You have to lose the rush, though, as service is a little slow but great quality

Arahuana is an amazing jungle property with great cabins, pool, walking path and a canopy tower.

We were the only guests on property which could have resulted in amazing customer experience. However, our experience was lackluster considering we paid > $250 a night.

Upon check-in we arrived at a dimly lit lobby with no one to greet us despite sharing our arrival time. Staff did not have any suggestions for activities despite the fact that I expressed interest in a night jungle walk before arrival. Restaurant had to close by 830 due to an on-site event. Loud music and karaoke heard at night. We went to sleep hungry with no food after 5 hour 30 mins drive.

I tried to reach management for some activity tips but they could not reach anyone despite the fact that we had been in touch via WhatsApp prior to arrival.

This could have been a 5 star experience with the following tips:

- #1 , must have an ACTIVITIES guide in reception. This is the reason many come to the jungle. Go for a walk in the malecon (city boardwalk) is an awful suggestion for a jungle experience

- wildlife guide, even a simple bird watchers guide would be exciting

- Trained customer service MANAGEMENT on site - Who was sending me all the great Whatsapp messages prior to arrival?

- TOUR of property. An explanation with some enthusiasm about the property would engage customers. STORYTELLING is key in experiences.

- Welcome fruit basket or some way to have food in suite for starving guests.

In conclusion, “great hardware, poor software”. At this price point, I expect much, much more.
