I spent three nights here without any problems. The rooms are spacious and clean, the grounds beautiful, delightful breakfast, exceptionally friendly staff and safe. As a solo ENGLISH female traveler, I highly recommend it. They didn't speak much English but went out of their way to help me with anything they could. They even went and got me pizza and...

I unexpectedly stayed here with a tour group, when our initial booking in Baños was cancelled due to the active Tungurahua Volcano. Baños is just one hour drive from here. This hotel was a pleasant surprise. Each lodge was huge, with an upstairs too. I didn't know which bed to choose to sleep in. Theres TV's in each room, a...

I went there with my family for "carnival" back in 2011 and the place was wonderful. Its located in a "jungle-like" place where you can enjoy peace and quiet and the food was good as well. Also, across the bridge you can find restaurants and other attractions to go to.

I am not certain what happened when the other travelers stayed here. I stayed here last week and had a fantastic time!! The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The service was impeccable. They opened the restaurant for us late one evening after we returned to find all of the neighboring eateries closed and served breakfast early the next day...

Even though the huts are charming, they are not well kept, yes there are plants on the roof, it is very humid, bathrooms so so, wheather gets cold during thunderstorms and they won´t give you extra blankets nor extra towels. Service was awfull!! people who work there have no idea how to treat guests, very desorganized. Don´t order food, it...

This is the worst service in any hotel in Ecuador. We took a trip to Puyo and though we were told there was no restaurant service we wanted to see the hotel so we might consider it for the future. We were not admitted. We sent a letter of complaint to the manager, if it had been answer politely and...

My in-laws visited us in Ecuador, but were not quite up for the true roughing-it backpacker experience of the jungle. So we decided to do "jungle lite" and stay in Puyo. We found Flor de Canela by accident. You walk over a hang bridge to get to it, and then you see the huge imposing hand-carved wooden front doors to...

“There is no AC (but you don't really need it in Puyo - we were quite cool most of the time). If you get hot easily, ask for rooms with their own balconies - the higher up the better the views (we stayed on the third floor). If you prefer more privacy, ask for one of the cabins (cute little huts with private bathrooms built in).”
  • Wonderful balconies with long views over the selva
  • Rustic, jungly, but comfy and fun
