We had a wonderful stay here. The cottage is quiet and very comfortable. When we weren't at the kitchen table looking over the beach, we went walking out with the dogs around the machair opposite – a twenty minute walk that takes you round three secluded, beautiful beaches. The dogs loved it. You can go out walking at 11pm in...

On arrival at Carnish you take a long, deep breath and all of your everyday stresses melt away. As others have said the location is perfect for peace and solitude. There are 2 beaches literally at your doorstep, if there happens to be another person on one you can choose the other to ensure you have it all to yourself!...

Superb, secluded location; the perfect 'get away from it all' destination. The house has everything you would want a holiday home to have, is clean and well cared for. The area is stunningly beautifull and although remote is within easy reach of the community store (which is well stocked) and petrol station for the area. Petrol on the island is...

Ruth and Murdo have created an oasis for total relaxation, we spent literally hours looking at the view through the kitchen window whilst sipping a glass of wine. With the well stocked Uig...

Situated in the remote village of Carnish on the far west coast of Lewis Carnish Lodge gives you respite from the rat race and absolute peace and quiet. Jaw dropping views over the Uig Sands, fresh air, hidden beaches, hills to climb, lochs to fish and beautiful Uig to explore. The house is wonderfully appointed, traditional and contemporary, open fire,...

This must be the best located house on the Hebrides. The kids were on the beach before breakfast, digging and building. No cars, no people, breathtaking scenery just from the windows. And it becomes superlative if you just climb a bit up the hill. Although very remote, the community shop and post office will have almost all you need (10min...

Carnish Lodge is a haven to escape from an increasingly busy world. Inside, the lodge is luxurious and beautiful with amazing views across Uig Bay. If you like long walks along deserted sandy beaches then you will be spoilt for choice on Lewis. The lodge itself is located beside one of the best. During our stay the weather was changeable...

Great Location overlooking Big,Big sandy beach. The colours are amazing andin sunshine it is genuinely like the bahamas. I can say this having been to both. there is a more secret beach over the hill at the back of the house that is reminds you of a James Bond film set. If you like solitude and safe place for kids...
