Umali lodge is a very nice place! You can live the true kindness of Tanzania people. Very good the dinner and the lunch pack. I suggest this place for its authenticity and for its location (very close either Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Lake Manyara NP).

Our two night stay at Umali was wonderful. It was very relaxing and quiet. The room was large and clean. The bathroom as small but very clean and functional. There was hot water to spare. We enjoyed sitting on the little patio. I moved the small couch to take advantage of the breezes and spent several lazy hours enjoying the... More

We traveled throughout Northern and Central Tanzania and this was our favorite place. We had great food, wonderful service, comfortable rooms, and hot water which is not always a given when traveling in Africa. Beautiful setting with lots of lovely flowers and love birds.

I was put up here as part of a package deal so I'm not really sure what this place costs on it's own. Thus, I can't really comment on the "value", but I enjoyed my one night here. The grounds are in a very quiet location near to the Ngorongoro Crater, with a very pretty garden right outside the rooms.... More

I highly recommend this lodge. We stayed for one night, and the lodge organised our day safari to Ngorogoro for the next day. We were very impressed by the attention to detail, and the excellent service. No effort was too much to accommodate our needs and wishes. Our hostess helped to organise our transport back to Arusha the next day,... More

Our small group was in Tanzania for three weeks and traveled through most of the country. We stayed in hotels in Moshi, Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar, Dodoma, and Babati, and camped in the Serengeti. Umali Lodge was by far the best, even of the high priced resort in Zanzibar. We began and ended our journey at Umali and when we... More

I had the pleasure of the staying at Umali Lodge for one night. It's located in the midst of lush farmland. After a long day driving through the Ngorogoro Crater, we pulled up to the lodge, where we were greeted with warm moist towels to wash up with as well as fresh chilled mango juice. The staff unloaded our luggage... More

This was really a good place to stay! Silent, beautiful, and service from the first moment! Dinner and breakfast included, excellent food and nice people. Low price! It was like an oasis in the desert! We came from the Ngorongoro crater, dusty and tired, but were met by nice people with hot towels and cold juice. The rooms were good,... More

This was my second time at Umali and when visiting Ngorongoro next year I will stay there again. The lodge consists of little square buildings with pretty gardens surrounding them. The area around the lodge is beautiful and peaceful. The rooms are large, clean and inviting. The beds are comfortable. The food is lovely. Wendy, the owner, was there this... More

It is a small Lodge, located at Bashay about 4km from karatu town. I like the service i got when I visited the lodge, though I went there to see my friends Rebeca(receptionist) and Eliza(manager). Management under Eliza is doing good and they are working hard to make the UMALI LODGE a better site for guests. You will never be... More
