- Huge room and bathroom. Spotlessly clean with no bugs (a pleasant relief after weeks being attacked by animals on safari). Beautifully decorated. Excellent open showers both indoors and outdoors. Had the maid light the fire for us and spent the evening sitting in...More

Gibbs farm is a stunningly beautiful place to stay and relax. The setting and gardens are beautiful. Service is excellent and unobtrusive . The rooms are large with a sitting area and windows making you feel like you are in a treehouse.

Good morning. Filtered water is always free and in unlimited supply as is tea and coffee. There is bottled water supplied in the cottages which gets refreshed by housekeeping daily as we do not recommend to drink the tap water.
There is a charge for bottled water in the restaurant.
There is also an option to pay a $40 supplement per person per day - this includes your choice of all standard local bottled water, all housewines ( 8 choices), choice of local beer, standard spirits and soft drinks.
It does not include premium imported water such as Pellegrino, premium spirits, cocktails and wines other than house wine.
I hope this assists. Please let me know if I can assist with anything else at all or if you have any questions.

We did a self drive, we hired a 4x4 in Arusha from Safari Drive. The roads were variable, tarmac, hard dirt and loose gravel. Lots of corrugations on the roads in the Serengeti but elsewhere not too bad. Easy to find your way around and gear safe in the vehicle in most places we felt. The road in to Gibbs Farm was a great drive through various little villages and small allotments, took a while on a dirt road but PolePole gets you there.
