After 3 days in Kruger national park, this is just a perfect place to relax. The hiking trails are magnificent. We had a really nice diner at the hotel restaurant. TIP: don't use your gps to get there, Google maps doesn't indicate the right route, so we got lost on the dirt road. Luckely the security of the lodge came...

We stayed here in winter in a tent which had a very effective heater and warmed the place up in no time. The main lodge and terrace are pretty and there are lots of birds including iridescent sunbirds round the flowering bushes. There was a blazing fire at night in the lodge but a bit of a pecking order: the...

Found this place totally by chance and we were so impressed. The lodge is beautiful and so in touch with nature. The waterfall hike and natural pool were such a pleasure and the staff were so friendly.

We had a Beehive for two nights and what a relaxing place this is. Staff are really helpful but be prepared to rough it a bit ! The power went off one night but you are given an emergency torch. No power means no fan and it did get warm as only small windows and door to open to get...

We stayed for 3 nights in tent 5 at this beautiful retreat. Although the weather was rather wet this didn't detract from the beauty of the place. The tent had everything you needed with a well appointed bathroom behind. The staff were very helpful. The lounge area was well set up for cosying up with a book or a game...

We stayed at Phophonyane Falls Ecolodge and Nature Reserve for 3 nights as part of a family summer trip. We stayed in two of the tented cabins with attached bathrooms which we found to be comfortable and a break from the ordinary accommodation. The nature reserve has lots of hikes, the food at the restaurant kept us interested for three...

This was our tenth stay at Phophonyane Falls ecolodge and Nature reserve. We really appreciated also this stay. During the years they have improved the quality of the kitchen, the food was delicious. The staff is friendly and helpful. We enjoyed an almost 6 hours very nice walk from the lodge through a forest area, up to the highest mountain...

Thank you very much for your wonderful review of Phophonyane and for once again choosing to stay with us. It is great to know that things continue to improve. The 6 hour mountain hike does feature some of the most spectacular scenery in the country and is something that we need to promote better. Nice to know that our guide...

I had the pleasure of taking my family to stay for 5 nights at Phonphonyane over Xmas. All the staff went out of their way to make our visit pleasant and memorable. Our arrival had been unavoidably delayed by 5 hours - no problem the kitchen stayed open till after 11pm ! We enjoyed pleasant walks on well marked trails...

Way off the beaten path, this lodge sets the standard in Swaziland for boutique accommodation. There are a variety of rooms ranging from relatively luxurious tents to beehive huts to virtual houses. The lodge area is beautiful and the food is delicious. There are hiking trails. The easiest leads to a lovely waterfall and does not take long. There is...

Thank you very much for your positive feedback and lovely, descriptive review of Phophonyane. It is indeed widely used as a stopover between the Kruger Park (only 70 km to the north) and the many attractions of northern Kwazulu Natal. Our guests do take advantage of the activities available in the area, e.g. the canopy tour at Malolotja Nature Reserve,...

Thanks very much for your important feedback on your day visit to Phophonyane. We are very sorry that you did not have the experience that you were anticipating. Indeed the swimming pool is only available for resident guests, which is a common practice for small, private lodges. The information regarding the use of the pool is clearly stated on the...
