I should first explain that I write from the perspective of a westerner who is a veteran traveler to Africa. My room was clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. The staff was pleasant. The inadequacies referenced begin with the restaurant. It is extremely slow to the point that I wonder if it is off-site. I also found that the wifi (though broadcasting its presence) never worked during my overnight stay.
I stayed here for 12 days for a work trip and was pleasantly surprised. We chose it the first night due to the location after a long drive from Kampala and I ended up staying because it was great. The staff was very nice, the wifi was strong, always had a hot shower and the food was good. There is some noise so if you are a light sleeper bring earplugs. But for the price, I don't think this hotel can be beaten!
Stayed here for a night in on the way to Fort Portal. Very clean rooms, lots of choice in the restaurant, warm showers, good wifi and staff were very good. It had very secure parking for our motorbike. Would recommend to everyone.
I book via booking.com. Then First when my friends arrived, they said my reservation was not there and took very longtime to find my name. Then we needed two extra room with separate bill. We explain again and again and again about it but not didn't separate it..... then calculate wrong rate from US$ to UGX.... But Room was very clean, and comfortable. Unfortunately it was no power so not so much hot water but light was on.
I stayed here in September for a charity visit with 3 friends, the hotel was booked on my behalf. My first impression was that it was a step back in time. The wooden panels and artwork helped. The rooms we were in were as clean and as tidy as you'd expect. The ensuite was clean but I'm in the habit of using antibacterial wipes in hotels as a precaution. Our rooms were towards the back and in a little covered area of 4 or 5 rooms. Access back to reception can be made up some stairs and through the building which is good due to the daily rainfall, or back the way we were brought. On the last night I noticed we had two armed security guards on patrol which was nice to see but made me wonder why! I used the laundry service which is paid directly and the did a nice job, however the general service at the restaurant area is quite slow. With that in mind the cooked breakfast is okay, nothing fancy but fine. Other food seems to follow a pattern throughout the other two hotels a we stayed at in Uganda. Here's, the dilemma, for a cheap hotel it's worth the price and for the price it's very nice hotel. My review score has to take into account the price, location and service hence it's a 4 but not in the same way a 4* hotel is rated in the UK, USA etc, I'd definitely stay again and for the price and on the understanding that it's where it is, I'd recommend. …
