We returned to the Grafenast after our first trip as children 35 years ago. Had a wonderful week teaching the kids to ski in the woods where we skied as children. The Grafenast retains its traditional Tyrolian charms (organic homemade meals with local wines and beautiful views over the valley). Peter and Waltraud have updated the hotel with state of...

I am not referring to the hotel as such but to the hotel restaurant only. After hiking in the marvellous contryside we went to this restaurant, with a lovely interior and a fantastic view by the way, and ordered coffee and cake. There is nothing to eat, told us the waiter, we are having a fast week. So is there...

We are recently back from a magical week in Grafenast. This our second visit, the first was 8 years ago as a couple, we returned with our 2 children, aged 3 & 5. The overall experience is exceptional - from the food to the activities and the wonderful spa area. The team are there to delight the guests, a special...

Climbing down from the Kellerjoch we sought refuge in what seemed like a scen from a Wes Andersson movie. Regulars sitting silently at their terrace tables starring at the captivating view of the valley breath us; the sun rays breaking out from beneath the storm clouded. Nobody seemed to talk and in anything was said people whispered. Until, until the...

yes 'Chill in Pill' - I can't choose a better expression :-): I have just spent 1 week in this little GEM of a hotel which offers striking views of the Austrian 'Tyrolean' Alps and Inntall Valley below - a clean, cosy, relaxing & welcoming place which immediately takes all the stress out of you (and I am quite 'demanding'...

Beautiful environment, clean , food is great. Service was very good. The Austrian experience was somewhat diluted by the artwork which might not be appreciated by everyone. Access is limited and may be intimidating to non-European travelers who might not be used to narrow streets and hairpin curves. Directions and signs are at times confusing. Hiking available at multiple difficulty...

The Grafenast is a lovely. We were very impressed with the food and the quality of the hotel. At the back of the hotel is a sauna / steam room complex including a circular sauna build from wood and mud in the forest. Our room overlooked the valley. You can ski right from the front door. However the skiing is...
