Detailed Reviews
What a lovely place to eat. All food is freshly prepared and caters for hubby's food intollerences. Staff are really helpful in advising what dishes and sauces are free from such as gluten, onions and garlic. I had pate followed by salmon and hubby had crab cocktail (with GF bread) followed poached haddock with crab stuffing. Both dishes came with various vegetables. I was too full for desert but hubby managed the GF lemon merangue. We enjoyed so much we are returning tomorrow. They can even do GF pie or lasagne with 24hrs notice. So much nicer than meals we have had at other restaurants at previous visits. Felt really safe with covid 19 precautions as all staff wear face coverings. A little gem.

Having visited the North Star every summer than I care to remember I decided to make a winter visit to take advantage of the off season discount for Dinner, Bed & Breakfast. The standards are as high as ever and thet winter discount represents excellent value and I benefitted from a much quieter visit. The staff were very welcoming always and many of them have been there for years. I stayed as a single in Room 5 (I prefer a double bed) and this faces the cliffs. The room was well furnished and equipped and very comfortable. Doubles have showers and twins have bath tubs. The room was very clean.
Both dinner and breakfast were a delight and the amounts of food is plentiful and the choice is wide.
This is a 2* - 3* hotel that delivers at 5* within its category. The hotel was very quiet during my stay however be aware that the walls are thin.

Booked and came for a meal Saturday as been before and knew what to expect. Sanitizer in doorway on entrance, we were welcomed by friendly staff who explained how things worked in covid times. Tables were well spaced out so felt completely safe. We ordered the pan fried chicken with our choice of garlic creamy mushroom sauce. Freshly cooked but didn't have too long to wait. The meal was excellent with tureens of fresh vegetables, the waitress came and asked if we needed more but there was ample. I was impressed as all staff were wearing some kind of protective face covering, only eating place I have seen this. We may a desert after which was delicious. The surroundings and decor are lovely, just my cup of tea. All in all an excellent choice to come here and definitely recommend to others and will be back, Thank you

I have eaten at the North Star for 25 years and stayed there at least once a year for the past 12. This was a very welcome return.
The rooms continue to be comfortable and tasteful with every amenity one could want. The highlight is always the staff and on this occasion everyone was truly excellent and they each managed the COVID-19 restrictions extremely well. The owners maintained a very high profile and interacted warmly with all guests. They are absolute treasures. I was so impressed when they remembered my favourite vegetable dish and ensured that I received a generous supply at dinner
The food quality at both dinner and breakfast was superb and only the freshest ingredients were used.
The North Star is an absolute hidden gem and the facilities come at a extremely fair price. This really is the only place to stay in the Flamborough and Bridlington area.

I lose track of how many years I have stayed here however returning is always a delight. Many of the staff have been here for years and the owners recognise me by name when I arrive, as do many of the staff. The hotel is superbly located and provides simple, homely accommodation that continues to be very clean and comfortable. Appropriate Covid measures are in place and I felt very safe. Breakfast is included in the rates and is a total delight still. All items are fresh and individually prepared and the staff simply cannot do enough to ensure guests are satisfied. Everyone receives a friendly welcome and staff take time with guests at every table. An asbsolute hidden gem.
I will review the restaurant separately.

Wow my sister and her husband brought me for a special treat … undoubtedly a fantastic treat! I gave an allergy and it is risky eating out but they were amazing checking dishes and altering to make this a great experience. It is hard asking for people to check and often I am made to feel that I’m a nuisance, nothing could be further from the truth here at North Star. The staff were brilliant, the food absolutely delicious, piping hot and loads of it! The dessert trolly had so much choice I will have to visit again. Friday night three courses £23.99 worth every penny! Many, many thanks.

This is a family/ dog friendly pub- our dog was served water in her own bowl at the table !
Food was served quickly and was fresh and good quality :)
The beer is cold and served quickly at your table-
The staff are friendly and helpful
Perfect location next to the most amazing safe beach.
We are frequent visitors and have never been disappointed:)

We have discovered a lovely hotel and restaurant that’s run on a very personal level. Such a warm welcome at the bar and the restaurant was popular for groups of people having lunches. We would go back again not just for drinks next time. More of a traditional look inside than modern with lots of space between tables and the cakes etc were served on a moving trolley like the good old days! Well done to all.

The North Star is superbly located on the cliff tops of North Landing in Flamborough. It is a 3* hotel that offers a 5* service experience. The North Start is family owned and a genuine interest is shown in guests. Some of the staff are new however they have been trained to deliver the highest possible level of customer service that should be the aspiration of all hotels.
Rooms are simple yet comfortable and consist of doubles and twins. I believe there is also a 4 poster room. Most rooms look over the fields to the front and back of the building, with the back rooms facing the lighthouse in the distance. The bed was very comfortable and the entire room was immacultely clean and well serviced.
I was greeted by name by the mistress of the household and immediately offered a complimentary hot drink. My preferences were known and I was made aware that my favourite table had been reserved for me for the entire evening so that I could eat at my leisure. Breakfast is included in all rates and the offering is substantial and incredibly fresh. All items are individually prepared.
My stay at the North Star is one that I look forward to each year. This reviewer visits many hotels of varying grades all across the globe however there is only one North Star. It is indeed a rare hidden gem.

My wife Sue and I are regulars at the North Star eating there at least once a week a6 were gutted when it had to close during lock down, but the North Star came up with a weekend take away service with limited menu. This is a good substitute and is value for money with North Star quality. But it gets better, as from the middle of April they are offering a marquee dinning experience with a limited menu but including the old favourite of steak pie. We can't wait!!!!
