Organised our Dad's 80th lunch here and it was excellent. Food was delicious and I think the pudding trolley is a great idea - spoilt for choice! Staff were very friendly and so efficient which made the whole party go so smoothly. Stayed the night too and rooms are lovely with good views and a huge brekky! Great spot for...

This hotel never seems to fail us. When we walked into the bar, Mike, the proprietor came from the kitchen to welcome us. Formalities over we came to he food side of things. He usually tells us if there are any specials on that are not on the main menu. Due to bad weather the boats had not been out...

Our small walking group spent a brilliant 3 nights here for our annual celebration. The rooms are very good and the food is excellent. Start the day with a superb breakfast which will suit almost every taste and there is a top-class dinner menu obviously strongly featuring fish with specials each day. But what makes it exceptional is the friendly...

Excellent hotel, really good menu, spotlessly clean rooms and very friendly service. I stayed with a group of 7 friends for a few nights. We were all extremely impressed by this first rate hotel. The staff were universally friendly and extremely helpful. Food was excellent - very good choice of fresh fish dishes such as halibut coupled with an impressively...

Ate at the North Star whilst I was away for a short break. There is a definite 70s feel to the place in terms of the decor. The food was good with a fairly wide choice. Our meals came with a dish of vegetables which were ok but I wasn't too keen on the new potatoes which were either tinned...

Hi Ene G, Thank you very much for reviewing us, it is much appreciated. We are sorry to hear that you found the decor rather dated, especially since we have only recently refurbished early this year. Based on our location and surroundings, the North Star has been deliberately styled to be 'Olde Worlde' and traditional. To confirm, we would never...

We stayed 2 nights at the end of February on the half board winter deal at £50 per night each including a meal from the table d'hote menu. This represents very good value and there is a wide range of choices available. The welcome was warm and friendly and we were shown to our room and the offer was made...

Hi John, Thank you very much for taking the time to review us, we really appreciate it. Pleased to hear that you both enjoyed your stay and that we represent good value for money. We have spoken to the housekeeper to try and rectify the issue of our bathroom items being too low, particularly for our more taller visitors. Thank...

This was our second visit to the somewhat windswept area but the general atmosphere and staff are most welcoming. The menu choice and size of portions prepared by the chef/owner are overwhelming. It is understood that refurbishment is scheduled for November 2015. We will return.

It's stuck back in the 80's or 90's decor wise. We were served by more mature but very friendly and efficient staff. The meal was delicious and obviously involved good home cooking. A sweet trolley to die for. At £70 for four including mains, sweets and drinks I felt it was good value and would definitely go back.

Stayed here again for three wonderful nights. We had room 3 which was a novelty as we had not had this room before.
