This lodge it's super nice, helpful staff with decent English. Dinner and breakfast are both fantastic. It is in Yanque, not Chivay like our tour lead us to believe. Greasy view over the valley bottom and river.
We really loved this hotel.... Wooden lodge style room with 2 single beds upstairs and a double bed downstairs. The bay window with a view was an added bonus. Showers not as great as the 6 other hotels we stayed in in Peru but the water was hot. Breakfast was good. Dinner was good. Both not exceptional. Staff fantastic. Provided me with hot water bottles and a hairdryer. We did have music from a neighbouring hotel but still managed a good sleep. Check your bed is comfortable before you settle in as we did have a slanting bed.
We found this hotel by chance, they had the last room available and we enjoyed a warm, clean and confortable night for a very good price. The building is nice, located a bit far from everything but very quite, the staff extremely kind and helpful. The food was very good, both at dinner as at breakfast.
Set out of the town, this hotel is very unusual, but very well thought out. Room are set around a courtyard, large with modern bathroom, seating area, heater and fridge. Quiet situation. Restaurant serves excellent choice of evening meals. Breakfasts too have a large choice. Wi fi available in rooms as well as public areas. Staff very helpful.
Only stayed here at our last night in the Colca Canyon. The set up of this hotel is really nice, also with the surrounding mountains. It is however located a bit far from the center of Chivay, which itself is nice for a day. Our room was of a good size with enough storrage. Beds were comfortable. We did had an electric heater but although the nights do get cold in the canyon we didn't use it. The reception did have extra hot water bottles if you wanted to use those. Bathroom was compact and it did take some time before we had hot water for a shower. But it was clean. Reception/staff was ok, but could be better. Breakfast, we did have (much) better in Peru, sadly not so much to chose and the juices weren't that great either.
