There aren't many times that a fishing lodge exceeds expectations, but this is one of them. From my very first time to fish in this area, I have been impressed with the quality of the original lodge and now, the newly finished Blackfly Bonefish Lodge in Schooner Bay. More importantly though, you have to look at the people who have created the lodge experience itself. Clint Kemp and his team of guides are possibly the best I've ever encountered. The fishery is excellent with several species available other than bonefish, which by the way, are very big and agressive. The food is totally unexpected, this is very first class in any country! Book in advance if you want to stay here any time soon.

Didn't get to go fishing due to the weather, but DID get to have a lovely dinner that my sister arranged .....to celebrate my hubby's birthday...lucky us! June & Clint manage the lodge & we were their guests.......lovely folks.......great company....and the food was top notch. Conch chowder....more like a bisque....delish!.....hog snapper perfectly prepared.....were just part of a several course meal......with wine of course. I understand that the fishing guides are also top notch...as are the accommodations. I hope to return to do some fishing next time.

I had been dreaming about catching a bonefish since I was twelve years old and thanks to a man called Clint Kemp my dream came true.
Earlier on this year I booked a holiday to the Bahamas in the hope of catching the elusive bonefish. I was holidaying in Nassau and had been looking on trip advisor and the like to find out who the guides are in this area, only one man came up and his name is Simon Bain and his reviews were truly horrific, but after reading through one of them someone suggested Clint Kemp, they left an email address attached, so I emailed Clint and give him his dues he emailed me straight back.
Clint at the Blackfly lodge is based in Abaco so I was a little hesitant on how to get there, Clint said it was a simple trip to put together and how right he was.
The day finally came for my trip to Abaco and Clint and myself had exchanged numinous emails before hand, he wasn't sure if it would be himself that would be coming to the airport to pick me up and take me for the day, I said that I would prefer to go with him so he said he would see what he could do. To my delight it was Clint that came and got me a true testament to how willing the guys at blackfly are willing to accommodate you and make you feel welcome in every way.
Once we were fishing I found it very difficult because the style of fishing was so different from how I was taught, but Clint was very patient and so helpful in every way I can't thank the man enough.
Then the moment came, I got a fish! I was over the moon and so was Clint he raced back to the boat to get his camera to take pictures for me, I think maybe he was more pleased than me, but that only shows the passion he has for all the clients he takes out.
Once we got back to the lodge I had about an hour to kill before I had to go back to the airport, everyone at the lodge was fantastic to me and so happy I landed my first bone.
Clint gave me a wooden bonefish to commemorate my first fish, a fantastic mo-mento.
June Russell, Clints partner gave me a hat and t-shirt as well they truly did go over and above anything I expected it was fantastic I had such a great day, I can only thank all the team at Blackfly especially Clint.
I would recommend fishing in Abaco with Blackfly to anyone if your going for a day or a week because you'll be treated like royalty no matter how long you are there.
As I said it was a truly amazing day!! Fantastic and well done guys, they really know their stuff, an experience il never forget and for all the right reasons

First time to Bahamas, and I took my wife to Abaco to go bonefishing after we had stayed at Atlantis for a week. Black Fly Lodge is an amazing facility, but what makes it wonderful is the owners and staff. I really felt like it was "home" while we were there. Very comfortable, very relaxing. Food was outstanding, drinks aplenty. Fishing guides were top notch. Both my wife and I caught our first bonefish! My wife was actually wading with sharks while she was doing it. We are hooked! Definitely going to be a repeat guest!!!

I have been to many lodges but none offer the laid back sophistication that Blackfly does. Couple that with awesome staff and guides and you have the perfect place to spend s fishing trip. The accommodations are as nice as you will find and every meal was great. They really don't miss a single detail. I would highly recommend.

Excellent guide in Kendall. Nice boat and equipment. Lodge is very nice with excellent gear, and many pictures to review on the wall. Sight fishing on the flats for bone fish is great day on the water.

Just returned form a 4 day bonefish fishing trip and it was a terrific experience from start to finish. The meals were 5 star quality, the guides, boats and lodge all first class. Clint and June go out of their way to make you feel at home, I will return. And not to overlook the most important item, the fishing was great!

The very best bonefish lodge. Devon is a highly accomplished chef, the food was excellent. Patrick and Derrick were great guides. The flats boats are new and really well set up. Clint runs a perfect operation. Rooms are nice, great mattresses. Quiet and the dogs are super friendly.

While staying at Schooner Bay, I had the opportunity to dine at the Blackfly Lodge several times. Chef Devon is a master at creating the most amazing meals. The atmosphere is casual yet elegant. I loved every course.
